Tilted ute = later movement. Don't worry. I also will add I didn't think it ever felt like gas bubbles. To me, it was a similar sensation to when your eye gets a twitch...but in your belly.
You're going to get baby stuff at Christmas. Sorry. Contrary to what you thought when you got pregnant, expecting 9 more months of Wawa, your life as you knew it is actually already over.
We aren't fond of strollers, much prefer wraps. We have a BabyTrend jogging stroller just for running (we haven't used it yet...its for when he is older) and a Snap n Go that works with our Chicco carseat. Heyjude is right. You have to think about your lifestyle and go from there. Also there is a good chance you will spend a shit ton of money on a stroller system and the kid will hate it (like Andy). So that's something to consider.
Andy will fall asleep in any carrier within 5 minutes. We like the Moby best for comfort, and I really don't think its that hard to wrap. We used a homemade ring sling early on because it was summer and everything else on the market was too hot---you won't have that problem. We have an Infantino soft carrier and an Ergo and like those for ease of use (they are good for grandparents). Some areas have babywearing classes with carrier libraries where you can try out different styles. Something to consider. $60 for a carrier that works is a bargain---it will change your life dramatically if it gets baby to sleep, allows you to make dinner, fold laundry, etc. But its a lot of money to be blown if you don't use it.

1. I wouldn't worry about this, I am pretty sure everything up to 23/24 weeks is normal.
2. I think it won't matter when you make your registry, if people want to buy you baby stuff they will buy you baby stuff, but hopefully they will abstain at Christmas.
3. I have the UppaBaby Vista which I love, but it is heavy and expensive. It does have a HUGE basket and I essentially use it as my grocery cart when I go to the store with DS. But I don't think it makes sense if you aren't in an urban environment. We also have the UppaBaby Gluxe, which is their lightweight stroller. It is easy to fold and I really like it, but it doesn't work for an infant. Most people I know have been very happy with the city mini (and I think it comes with a car seat adaptor). It folds very easily and is pretty light weight.
4. When DS was itty bitty I was used the Maya Ring Sling and LOVED it. He would fall asleep in there in 2 seconds. Now we use the Ergo and really like it.
More on carriers: I think it takes an experienced babywearer to use a sling for newborns properly. You have to be concerned with their position so they do not suffocate. You can use a ring sling for an upright, tummy to tummy position and that's best. Also, IME, breastfeeding has such a huge learning curve that its not realistic to expect to feed in the sling early on (if ever, lol). Really you should be shopping for comfort, ease of use, and baby safety. There was a nestie with a website called Becoming Mamas and she had a lot of info on carriers that I found helpful.
Also talk to your H about carriers. If he plans on using it too, that will direct your purchase. The Moby fits everyone (its a wrap) but the K'Tan is sized.

I agree it is not easy to BF in a carrier. We were not able to do it until DS was over 5 months and we did it in the Ergo. It was easier once he was able to latch on himself vs. me guiding him to it.

Oh yeah, other disclaimer. The woman who ran the store has 5 kids and is pregnant again. So I believed her when she said it was best and had tried it all, but I also don't expect to be as good at things as she is for a long time, if ever.
She apparently carries her toddler in a sling as well, and another woman who was just a customer in the store had a 6+ month baby in there (it was able to sit up on its own, so I know it was a bit older). So it does seem to work past newborn stage.
I never really considered breastfeeding in a carrier, because that does seem very advanced, but I think this seems like the easiest way to attempt it. If that's not something you ever care to do, then like missusbee said, just go for comfort, ease of use, and safety. I liked it on comfort and ease of use and the safety part seemed OK to me, but I haven't researched it that much.
Breastfeeding did not work out with my first, but with my second we were quickly able to BF in the moby. I didn't use the BF "position" they recommend, but we were able to with the regular newborn hold (I think it was called a "newborn hug"). I would have to guide her head to the right place, but then she would hang on for dear life (she was very attached to the boob)! I managed to BF in the subway and between the moby and a big, strategically placed sunhat everyone thought I just had a sleeping baby despite my DDD chest!
We are actually getting a snap and go frame thingy for free from MH's boss, so that will probably be what i'm using until we figure out how much strolling I really do. And between baby time and when that no longer works for us I'll probably go to the store and try out all the ones you all recommended.
Carriers - I've got enough friends with older kids that i think there are an assortment of carriers hiding in closets and attics that I can try out. And my sister will probably still be using hers, but I can visit for a weekend and go for walks trying hers out too. But I don't think I even realized how many options are out there, so this has been really helpful.
As for the registry - Last night I talked to my friend who was asking me for a guest list and addresses and she said that I need to just make a registry sooner rather than later. I think they're planning an early shower to avoid the holidays. My IL's are really the only ones that buy more than token gifts and they just work from a list MH writes, so I'm not sure why I'm whining about this. Need to get over myself.

I breastfed Amelia in the K'tan last fall at all of the college football games we went to. It took me a little bit to wiggle around all of my clothing layers and get her into position (I was trying to not draw attention to myself), but once she was in place it was very easy. Nobody around us knew what was going on.
I really hate slings. It's a preference thing. I get sciatica, and the the way the weight distributes, my back starts hurting after 20 minutes. I can't imagine wearing it long term. I find the K'tan and Ergo to be much more comfortable. Unfortunately, it's just one of those things that you'll have to try out once baby gets here. Do you friends have carriers you can borrow?
