The Target thread had me wondering how many of you use Shipt, and if you like it or are just meh about it?
I like it but feel like some shoppers don't know where everything is. I ordered an item, the shopper messaged that it wasn't in stock. I wound up having to go into the store later for something else and there was the item. Obviously it could have been stocked since the shopper had been there, but I feel like she just couldn't find it (it was Horizon shelf stable milk boxes).
Other than that, I like it a lot and will use it a ton this winter.

We use Walmart pickup almost every week for groceries, and I would say 50% of the time they say they are out of something, I go and look and it’s right there on the shelf. These are mostly teenagers, it’s a free service, and they do a metric shit-ton of pickup orders on the weekend, so I understand. I’d be a little more upset with something like Shipt where you pay for a service (and can’t just go into the store to check because it’s delivered to your house).
I'm surprised she couldn't find it. Don't most store apps tell you where in the store stuff is located? I've done that before when it's something I don't regularly buy myself, the kroger app will give you the aisle info. I would definitely make a comment since you're paying for the service.
Kroger has curbside pick-up and they regularly don't have stock for things that are promos. It drives me bonkers, but it's a store inventory issue, not curbside. It just sucks because they're have promos and then only fill 1 of the 2 items for the promo, so you don't get the promo and are stuck with the 1 item vs if I was in store I could determine to put the item back. I complain regularly about stock issues on my survey.

This is usually why I don't do clicklist. It's rare that I get everything I ordered and what the heck is the point if I have to go into the store to find an alternative? I guess I figure between the 10+ minutes I have to spend waiting for them to bring my order out, the sometimes bruised or subpar produce, and the fact that they're out of stuff, it just often doesn't feel worth it to me. I mostly only use it when there are too many good coupons to pass up and it more than covers the cost of the fee.
I have Shipt, but use it for a local chain (never used it for Target, our Target’s don’t have large grocery selections). I also have Instacart. I do all of my grocery via delivery now. I have three different deliveries shielded for Friday - Aldi, Costco, and a local chain - bringing me all my Christmas entertaining groceries. I love being able to split orders between stores to get different brands, prices, etc.
Last time I ordered I asked for frozen steam in bag broccoli. Because the store was out of my preferred brand, the shopper bought the huuuge economy pack of frozen broccoli in that brand. What the fuck is my family of 2 going to do with 4 lbs. of frozen broccoli? Jesus. I wish she'd asked. All my other shoppers asked before making such substantial substitutions.
I use the service on occasion, but my grocery store is so close I can walk and it seems like a waste for weekly deliveries. I use Target drive up for usual household items when I'm feeling lazy.

I have great luck with Shipt! (Different store, not Target). The people seem to go above and beyond. For example, when stuff is out, they will take pictures of similar items and ask if I would like that instead. They’re courteous and professional. They consult with staff on unique products and always find them, too. I’m really happy with it.

Instacart for Aldi delivery recently became available here and I'm going to check it out.

I have used it in Minnesota and New York, and the NY shoppers tend to be the ones that take pictures to ask and I liked that.
I like it. I cancelled though because I have trouble justifying paying $150 a year, plus a tip every time. It's not that I don't think it's worth the money, it's just money I don't need to spend most of the time because I can just run to the store myself. I do like grocery delivery in general for mid week groceries on weekends when I'm OOT. I don't generally drive during the week so it's a pain to have to go out at night to get groceries vs stopping on my way home like I used to when I drove daily.
I have had varying experiences with Shipt but mostly positive. One time they were either out of or couldn't find like 1/3 of my list, and that was frustrating. It was all basic stuff like milk (somehow my store didn't have ANY skim milk that day?). That time I texted back and forth with the shopper for like 2 hours before she finally arrived, which was SO annoying because I did it as a time saver and still spent a bunch of time on it! But the other times have been smoother. The only potential other issue is that it almost never ends up being delivered during my selected window. They let you know, and usually I'm not on a tight schedule anyway, but it would be annoying if I was.

I deliver part-time for shipt and use it as a customer as well. I've had good shoppers and really sucky shoppers. One messed up 4 out of 10 items and I ended up going to the store myself, I was so annoyed! I try really hard to go above and beyond for my customers. If the store is out of something, I let them know and provide alternatives, usually with pictures. And I have never delivered an order late!

They have deals on membership and I can get you a better deal if you're interested in trying it again. Drop me a message on FB if you want.

I’ve done probably 30 orders with Shipt in the last year and have had minimal issues. I live outside the delivery area, so I used to have them meet me at my office or daycare until the store (Meijer) started offering curbside pickup.
Instacart for Aldi just came to my area so I gave that a try last week. My shopper had my order ready an hour early (I even double checked the app for my delivery window!) and she was rude about it. I do like the features of the Instacart app over Shipt, though, such as seeing your order being pulled in real time, or being able to suggest substitutions on items the store is running low on even before the shopper starts.

Do you find that shopping for them is worth it? Curious to know your experiences, I am looking to do some stuff on the side so I can save some $$ to be able to move next summer.

Thanks! I may do that after the holidays. I like grocery delivery a lot, I just don't want to do it every week so paying the equivalent of around $12 a month for membership if I only use it once or twice isn't worth it (that plus a $5 tip each time adds up). If it was cheaper I could probably get on board, though! It's especially great when I only need the basics or to restock on exactly what I already know I need (and thus don't need to browse).

I'm curious to know this as well. I've thought about signing up to do it myself. Do we have Instacart here too or just Shipt?

If I look at each order individually, some orders are totally not worth it. I might only made $10 for an order and it took me an hour plus 10 miles of driving. If I look at a week or a month as a whole, I find it worth it. Last week I made $200 and even after I take taxes and expenses like gas out, it's a decent amount of money and it's helping pay off debt. I also just enjoy doing it. It gets me a little more social interaction, I enjoy 95% of my customers and store employees, and it gets me a little bit of exercise.

You know where I am. We only have Shipt here, but in KC I'm pretty sure they also have Instacart.
I got a membership at a discount- maybe $60 for a year. It's been great when I use it-I really should try using it more, i just forget about it. All the shoppers have always been good about checking in for substitutions or to see if I need anything else. I've tried Target but mostly use King Soopers (Kroger) since their selection is better.

Im not the pp, but I do it part time for Shipt. I really enjoy it. Most of the time I average $20/22 an hour. Sometimes more and sometimes a touch less. I do it part time to help pay off debt. I like that on busy weeks, I dont have to do anything, and then on slower weeks I can pick up more.
I do take pictures of all my subs that I suggest to my customers so they can see their choices. It is all about going above and beyond for the customer, and trying to think what you would expect as a customer. (Looking at expiration dates, picking the best produce, etc)
I use Shipt for Target and have had great luck! Only one time I had a bad shopper and Shipt made it right. The people in my area have developed relationships with Target and some shoppers will ask if items are in the back.
My shoppers always ask for substitutes if something isn’t in stock.
ETA: I use it usually weekly and sometimes twice a week. I work full time, my husband works 70-80 hours a week and I have 4 kids. So between homework and activities this is one area I will gladly spend money to have someone shop for me.

I actually have spent much less on groceries, even factoring in the tips and the yearly subscription. When I use shipt, I don't buy the random things I used to.
I've been a shopper for instacart for almost 3 years if anyone has any questions. If you use the service, keep in mind that they recently changed their pay structure for the shoppers and are now using the tips to supplement tips. Shoppers all over the country are asking customers to enter in pre-tip of $0.22 which signals to us that you'll be tipping post delivery.

Can you explain this more? I have been using Instacart for Aldi and there’s is a tip already included when I check out. My service fee and delivery fee are waived though since I paid for a yearly membership. Should I be tipping on top of the tip?

Instacart old payment system had a per day base of $3-$6 and they also paid 40 cents per item shopped. So for example, a day with a $3 base and 20 items would pay $11 before the tip. There was also a $5 bump for any order over $200 and for every $100 after that. The new payment system which was rolled out recently doesn't have any set amount of how much they pay us except for there's a $10 minimum per order which includes tip. I've personally received orders upwards of 30 items for $12 with a $6 tip. The automatic tip that you're talking about is 5% of your order. Most of us feel like that's a really low number since we are shopping, bagging, and delivering the orders ourselves. We're independent contractors and drive our own cars, and are also responsible for covering insurance car maintenance, phones, etc.
