Where do you get their snow boots? DS1 (11) is in a size 8.5/9 so needs to buy “adult” shoes. We akways got him basic LL Bean snow boots but the kid sizes only go up to 7. All the adult boots I see are not his style (lace up duck boot types) or $150. His feet grow so fast that shoes don’t last more than a few months. I’m not spending that on boots he will only wear a handful of times.

I have a lot of luck for my girls (my 11 year old is in women’s 7.5 and my 9 year old wear’s a wkmen’s 8) at Marshall’s. I usually pay under $30 for decent boots. We’re in coastal NJ, so we need boots but they don’t necessarily get a ton of wear.
I do bogs for my kids (all girls). I don’t mind spending more because they are good for rain and snow, and can often be found on resale sites. I don’t pay more than $30 for them.
I'm generally very "no thank you" when it comes to used shoes, but for something like snowboots I would make an exception. Definitely check your local b/s/t groups on facebook and local consignment shops, you can definitely get some good deals if you can find them. Snowboots are so dang expensive and barely worth it, especially around here (Philly burbs) where winter storms are hit or miss, we have years where we barely get any snow and other years where we spend the entire winter digging out.
