Discovery of Witches is on Sundance Now in case anyone wants to watch it. If you don't have cable, you can stream it. I subscribed to the channel and there is a 7 day free trial. It's $6.99/mo after that. I just watched the first episode and it's GOOD!

I read the whole trilogy and binged the entire first season. Show was good, books were better. I don’t think Marcus was well cast, or st least I thought he was much too meek in the show. I can’t wait for season 2!!

Thanks for this! I loved the books and have 2 upcoming trips. This is the only time I will have to read until summer and have been looking for recs. I actually remembered that trilogy and went looking for similar books, but all the suggestions amazon gave me were ridiculous to me. Does anyone have any recs for similar books (or really any good beach read books) that are out in paperback?
Also possible that I can watch DOW on the plane but I will still need books:)

If you liked DOW try the Cousins O’Dwyer trilogy by Nora Roberts.

The Hallows series by Kim Harrison Patricia Briggs has two paranormal fantasy series that are good Keri Arthur has good books too but they might be hard to find paperback in the US because she's Australian. Those aren't' as history based as DOW though.

I'm watching it now. I was going to save it for my plan ride next week but it's too good to wait. I'll probably get the books since I have a 17 hour flight.

I'll look into these!
I feel like I should warn you that Patricia Briggs does have a scene of sexual assault in one of her books. I can't remember which one exactly but it's in the Mercy Thompson series and it's unavoidable. The other series (the Alpha and Omega series) also contains some mentions of it as things that happened in the past to the main character.
