My mom used to be like that too. I stopped paying attention to her and she got better over time. She used to tell my sister to stop eating because she would end up fat like me.
I promised myself I'm not going to make that mistake with DD.
You're hot. I've seen photo evidence! Your mom is nutso!
Mine is generally really sweet and complimentary, but she gets her digs in every now and then. She hates when my hair is anything other than blonde (which is strange, because I can pull it off, but darker really does suit me better), and she's not shy about saying so when I get it colored. She also gets snarky whenever I get a tattoo or piercing. She once said something like, "You're such a pretty girl. I don't understand why you do all of these weird things to distract from that."
My mom is just clueless with no filter. She doesn't understand tattoos either, though she has accepted them. She hates when I color my hair. She did compliment me the other day saying my waist looked tiny in my corset. I have to take them where I can
Your mom is an asshole sometimes. The worst my mom says is, "You look tired, do you need to use a little of my blush?" or "When's your next hair appointment?".
You need a Jewish mother. Come visit. /gavel
This is my mom. She thinks she is being helpful. My mom started going gray at 17 and she passed this gene onto all of us. She will look at me and say "Oh, you are really getting gray right up front, do you want me to make an appointment with Julie for you?" And "Time to get those eyebrows waxed, huh? Let's go together tomorrow!"
It's only slightly annoying. MAYBE I LIKE MY BUSHY EYEBROWS AND GRAY HAIR, MOM! She would NEVER tell me negative things about my weight. She struggled with hers her whole life. You want my mom? I will share.

My mom has always struggled with her weight like Jojo's so she never says anything unless it's to comment that I've lost weight. I can always count on her to notice! I'm the one who is always trying to encourage her to exercise, etc. It makes me sad how unhealthy she's become

I have to remind myself, it's not about me. It's about her and her weight struggles which I inherited. I think there is definitely a jealousy piece to it. And that makes me sad.
Uggg that sucks. I recently lost 25 pounds and my mom is all like "oh you did? You look exactly the same, I would haven never noticed." Jesus H Christ even my DAD noticed.

And thanks everyone. Y'all are awesome!!
You're awesome! My mom has always struggled with her weight and won't take any personal responsibility for it. She's always putting me down for the way I eat (you know, healthy). It's annoying, but at the end of the day I feel awesome about how I look.

Yeah, my mom pulls this kind of shit. She has never once said anything positive about the way I look. It's always "You would look so much better if..." or "You would be so pretty if..." followed by her recommendation. Consequently, I always think that I look like shit.

Thanks. Thanks a lot.
Haha, my mom says this about people with tattoos all the time!
