Saw my doctor today and since I have had a huge decrease in energy, continues shortness of breath and no change in nodules they increased my thyroid medication. I have kind of a complicated health history and so she wants me to see and ENT doc to make sure there has been no damage due to reflux that I have had since my teens that is contributing to how I am feeling.
Why do my parents feel the need to make me feel like I am 12? I called to ask a simple question (if they remembered where I had a test done when I was younger) and it turned into me crying and upset and them saying I hate them? WTF? I just needed to get a records release to send to my current Dr. They flipped out on me and told me I shouldn't have surgery... Ummm when was surgery mentioned? Why do I regress and lose rationality every time?
Background: My Dad is a conservative Dr. who doesn't like a lot of testing and does not like me to see doctors for some reason. I almost lost my foot because of this but that is a whole notha story...

Do you need me to drop you off a case of wine? Because I totally will! I'm sorry that something simple turned out horribly. Parents just have the ability to turn parent mode no matter your age. Lots of hugs to you, I hope they are able to figure out your tiredness issues!
ENT for reflux? weird! I am finally going through the process of getting diagnosed for reflux and I am just going to a stomach doc.
and lots of wine. Wine helps everything.
It didn't make much sense to me either. She also is a thyroid surgeon though and can use a scope in office to check for damage. This also contributed to the fight!
Take your meds if you need them, I learned that the hard way

I'm so sorry! I can relate to the parent issue, but PPs are right - know that you are taking care of yourself, and that's what's most important. Hugs (and a case of wine!) to you!
