We're moving our washer and dryer to the basement and converting our laundry room in to a pantry. Whatever we decide, will all be custom made by my H. I'm thinking just floor to ceiling cabinets where the washer and dryer currently sit, but am open to other ideas. This will be mostly for kitchen overflow, and a place to store all of my appliances so that I don't have to bring them up and down from the basement. It's also the room where we keep towels, sunscreen, etc for the pool in the summer. This room will be a complete blank slate. We'll be painting as well as all new flooring. The powder room and garage doors are being replaced and the back door is being painted. The door leading in to the kitchen is going to be replaced with a sliding barn door. The baseboard heater has to stay where it is.
The first two pictures are facing into the room from the kitchen. The exterior door on the right, powder room door straight ahead, and garage door to the left. The second picture is standing in the power room looking in to the kitchen.
The only thing I know for sure is that the cabinet design will be shaker style and painted white, and the floor tile will be 12x24 white with grey or grey with white. It's more the design aesthetics like height, individual width, whether I want to have any open shelving or all closed. Etc. This is a small room, only 60" x 104". Any and all ideas welcome!

The cabinets in your inspiration photo are 24” deep, which would definitely fit where your w/d are located. However, at 24” deer I would want pull out drawers or shelves for a pantry to be really useful.
If you are building them yourselves and want to open up the space a bit I would instead to 18” deep cabinets. Then I wouldn’t need the pull out shelves and it would be much cheaper and less imposing. Since traffic flow would be eased I might put some open shelving (high) on the opposite wall or to cubbies for the coat racks.
We had two custom cabinets built in what used to be the laundry closet in our hall. The hall width and the cabinet depth together is about 60" total. We use them as pantry overflow...one for food and the other for random appliances, bakeware and anything else that has no home.
Each cabinet is around 27" deep and has two doors, so that the doors don't stick out too far into the hall when they are open. One cabinet has pullout drawers and the other just has shelves.
Do you have room on the small wall between the outside door and the kitchen(?) door for a shallow cabinet? We have a little space like that in our other hall where we put up a tilt out shoe cabinet, and we store our sunscreen, insect repellant and other stuff in the top shelf. I put a bin in there to help keep it organized, and it has been nice to have a go to spot for that stuff.
You could do one pantry cabinet and one upper and bottom if you need to reduce the size. I have something similar in my kitchen and keep many appliances in the (larger than the picture) bottom cabinet, which doesn't have pullouts. It's fine since there are only large appliances and it's no more than 2 things deep. The pantry cabinets have pullouts in the lower section and it is so much more useful than just shelves would be. I think it would probably be nice to have some area not behind cabinet doors to create a drop zone, have a basket of sunscreen, etc. If that's not appealing I certainly think two pantry cabinets side by side would work.
I would try to do cabinets a the way up to the ceiling to maximize your space.
You could try something shallow like this at the end near the exterior door to free up the space across from the cabinets.
I like this. I was thinking that I wanted to do something on the end there but was having a hard time picturing it. Something like this would be perfect for pool and grilling supplies. Unfortunately for me, this room is so small with so many doors, that the area where the w/d is now is really the only place that we can install shelves/cabinetry, so I'd really like to utilize the space as much as possible.
The ceiling is 8.5' and I'm only 5'2" so I'm concerned about reaching stuff in the top. Right now I have to climb on top of the w/d to reach stuff that I store on top of the cabinets LOL I was thinking that if I do go floor to ceiling, that I would just put the infrequently used stuff in the top cabinets, but I'll still have to reach them at some point. I guess worst case scenario I could use a ladder
And I think that the pull out shelves/drawers is a great idea, that's my biggest complaint with my pantry in the kitchen now, I can't reach anything in the back of the shelves without sticking half my body in the cabinet haha

We have pullouts in an upper cabinet in our kitchen. My cabinet guy thought it was weird to have them that high up, but I can reach them with a step stool, and it is easier to get the stuff from the back than it would be without the pullouts. Our step stool stores in a narrow cabinet that we squeezed in under our island. It's great having a dedicated space for it.

We have pull out drawers in a few cabinets and I hate them. The kids are constantly knocking stuff behind them, so then the cabinets and drawers don’t close. And I have trouble reaching behind to get the things out of the way in order to close the cabinets (I’m 5’ even with very short arms). I would never put them in again (they were there when we bought our house).

If reaching things high up is an issue, what about narrower cabinets and a library-style built in ladder? I wish I had one in my kitchen to reach things that are high. Instead I’m constantly climbing on my counters to reach.
Do you have an IKEA nearby? I always look at their pantrys set up with their kitchens and dream of a nice sized pantry. Google Ikea pantries and you might find some ideas. There are some you tube videos and here is a link.
We have a similar style to what you posted in our laundry room that also acts as pantry overflow/extra fridge room lol. I like how we did it with the deeper cabinets on the bottom (great for holding all the stuff like costco loads of paper towels, extra kitchen appliances, etc) and the more shallow cabinets on the top for pantry goods. Bonus is that the shelf acts as a place for me to climb up to reach things up high plus a place to hold things while unpacking etc. Not a great pic but you get the idea.

Attaching a taller back piece to the drawers to help prevent that from happening could be a pretty simple solution.
