She's too cute. Also, DS1 would love that shirt. He's all about being kind and loves pink. Where did you get it?
We don't celebrate Valentine's Day, so last night when DH was like, "Oh, shit, tomorrow's Valentine's Day," I was like, "ok?" We both totally forgot that we have children who expect us to do holiday things, like provide them with cards for their daycare friends. Thank God for my mom who, at this point, will likely always be way better at this shit than I am. She sent us a box of Valentine cards and trinkets for the boys weeks ago. I grabbed it from the office and whipped out some cards for DS1 to give to his friends. There were several options in the box, but I went with the llamas. "Llama ask you a question. Be my valentine?" Lol. They came with llama tattoos too.
Very cute Mine is in this Minnie Mouse set today. My sister just bought her the set last weekend. I was going to put her in a hearts t-shirt she's had for a while but it looked a little grungy so I figured I'd put her in something new. Plus I held out both the hearts shirt and the Minnie shirt, and DD picked Minnie, so here we are.
My mom gave me a box of Valentine's to give to DD's daycare classmates. They're ... Sofia the First, I think? IDK, we don't watch that. Both me and my mom were looking for Elmo or Sesame Street Valentine's but couldn't find any.
Anyway, I told myself that I'd get something like packets of Goldfish crackers for the kids to attach to the Valentines, and maybe chocolate/$1 lotto tix for the teachers. Except I don't know which kids are in DD's class, and I don't know every teacher's name since there are a lot of "floaters" and because of shift changes I don't see a lot of them (I do drop-off, MH usually picks up). Plus I had an incredibly busy day at work yesterday and didn't get a chance to go to the store and buy the treats ... and I didn't want to email the directors to ask for everyone's name until I had said treats in hand already.
So, sorry kids, no Sofia Valentines. I'll put them away for next year, I guess, and maybe fib to my mom when she asks if I passed them out to the kids.

DD picked out the cheapest valentine's at walgreens. I appreciated the price, but they were such a PITA to fill out, plus some of them came with little emoji pins that I had to pin onto the cheap paper.
DH has to work tonight so we are going to have our annual Valentine's dinner at Five Guys tomorrow.
Dammit! I was going to dress my kid in his spiffy hearts outfit and completely forgot. Oh well.
I never have any "holiday" themed clothes unless someone gives them to us. My in laws gave us a halloween Jammie set that he rocks year round, but other than that we have nothing.
My facebook is flooded with kids dressed in hearts and the like. oops.
we usually always did a nice dinner at home, small little gifts. This year we have been in a rough patch so we will see. I got him a card and will pick up a bottle of whiskey for him on the way home. We agreed something small again for gifts. Skipping the nice dinner and I am making homemade chicken fingers, lol.
BB is having a party at school and is so so excited. She was jumping and dancing when I dropped her off. ETA: apparently parents can come and she asked me if I would. I didn't know this until yesterday and I feel like death, I felt so awful but she seemed to understand.
They asked for Valentine's and for the kids to write their own names, but uh I did it. 1) she has a broken right arm and is right handed. 2) there were 16 to fill out 3) I have a virus from hell and there is no way I could have sat with her to do that and MH would have just done the same as me.
On the bright side even though they are Minnie Mouse they are very empowering with sayings like "Girls can do anything" and the like. I didn't even realize that when she picked them out.
She busted through the knee of her jeans last week so I patched them so she would have something for the holiday. DH said she’s wearing her pink unicorn dress on top. Atta girl!

For MONTHS, my teen daughter has been upset that I didn't do anything big for her birthday. We've had A LOT of conversations about always expressing what you want and not waiting for other people to do what you've imagined in your head that they will do. She's pretty much taken it to heart and this week announced that it would be special to her if I gave her something for Valentine's day. I put it in my calendar for yesterday so I wouldn't forget. Then I promptly forgot. Luckily, H was able to swing by Target last night. My daughter was thrilled this morning - and got a good laugh out of the "Happy Birthday" on the Starbucks gift card he bought. (He hadn't noticed it).
Dammit! I was going to dress my kid in his spiffy hearts outfit and completely forgot. Oh well.

I don’t always buy holiday outfits, but I liked that this one could be worn for more than the day itself, either as an outfit or mixed with other pieces.
DS is wearing a Love tee today - it’s hard finding something that is a) long sleeved (WTF to that, hello, it’s February) and b) isn’t rife with a gross sentiment. My kid doesn’t need a tee that talks about ladies wanting him.
DD is wearing her Christmas dress (red is a multi-holiday hero) with heart leggings. Easy peasy.
I enjoy doing the little Valentine cards so those have been done for a while lol. Dinosaurs for DS, mermaids for DD.

The only reason we have it, is because it's his adoption day outfit.
Mine came home with a 102 fever last night from preschool, so the valentines and outfit that we prepped were all for naught. Sigh. She's home today, and will bring her valentines and treats when she can go back.
On the bright side she woke up this morning with a normal temp, 13 hours after her last Motrin dose, so whatever it was, it seems to have been short lived and she should be back tomorrow. So weird though to spike like that.
AJ came busting in my room shortly after getting up to give J and I our "valentimes" aka a couple leftovers from the Black Panther valentines he picked out for his class. I was already up but J was still asleep and proclaimed it one of the best ways to wake up ever Kiddo also hugged me, told his baby sister "Happy Valentime's Day!" and then told me he could hear her heart "beeping". I hope he keeps that level of cute going allllll day.
My daughter claimed the flowers my husband got me as hers . Then I didn’t get my son any v-day clothes so he demanded to wear his rainbow PJ top to preschool. So they’re cute but a mess.

We’ve been on snow days since last week. Kids are taking Valentines today but not sure if they’ll get to pass them out or not. Oh well. I’m just glad they’re going back to school today (late start or not) because we’ve all gotten tired of being around each other, haha.
DD is wearing a red shirt that has heart-shaped script that says ‘the family that celebrates together has fun forever’, and DS has a red shirt with a dragon that is blowing hearts instead of fire.
DS is wearing a Love tee today - it’s hard finding something that is a) long sleeved (WTF to that, hello, it’s February) and b) isn’t rife with a gross sentiment. My kid doesn’t need a tee that talks about ladies wanting him.
My Mom bought DD a Valentine's shirt saying, "Sorry boys, Daddy is my Valentine"
BARF. It went right into the donate pile.
My Mom stopped by last night to give VDay stuff to the kids (junk gifts are her love language) and she mentioned she can't wait to see pictures of the shirt she bought on her tomorrow.
So. To post FB pictures of DD in a different heart shirt (without the gross wording) or to just not post pictures at all.
Either way, my GBCN submission of cute Valentine-themed kids:

Seriously, why are all the Valentine’s day tees short sleeved? I had DS wear his shirt last week when it was 60 degrees cause the temp seemed appropriate.
DS is wearing his favorite team t shirt. Seems appropriate.
I didn’t even think to take pictures or post them anywhere. The holiday pictures on FB of kids gets to be a lot, and I have kids and usually like seeing kid pictures.

On the bright side even though they are Minnie Mouse they are very empowering with sayings like "Girls can do anything" and the like. I didn't even realize that when she picked them out.
BB can write her name?? DD isn’t even close to that.

Supposedly - I have seen it on her paper once. MH was highly skeptical that she wrote it, but I think she did with A LOT of help.
I feel like an Indian mom failure - I should probably have her do things like that at home, but meh. I figure when she's playing, she's still learning through pretending and that's fine with me. We do "math" though so not all is lost LOL
kdubs923 , if you post and your mom asks, can you just say your DD preferred the shirt she's wearing over the one she gave?
Yeah, I'm probably going to go with, "She wore it earlier in the week, so it was in the wash for Vday." Or "The 3 year old picked out the outfit" because that is no battle I can fight on a weekday morning, trying to get to work ontime.

Damn! You guys have cute kids!
My kids are older so there were no cute clothes. My daughter did do store bought Valentine's for her class, my son didn't do anything (he's in middle school).
Per tradition, I decorated the hallway with paper hearts and gave them a small candy gift. I will make their favorite dinner tonight and call it a wrap!
My DS1 picked out Transformers valentines and they have to wear their uniforms today so no fun outfit for him.
My DS2 is in a super cute heart robot tee. His valentines are little packets of Boogie Wipes that say I "PICK" you to be my Valentine! I love a good pun.
Mine are even older! (And they're grands! Wow, I feel ancient today. And I'm not that old, dadblameit!) They wanted to go shopping for valentine's for their BOYFRIENDS! Gad, I hate middle and high school. The high schooler went to school wearing her slippers because she was lazy, late (even though I woke her a half hour early - 90 minutes past regular time because we have a 2 hour delay) and didn't want to bother. It's still got several inches of snow and the sidewalks are slick and icy. Today's the first day back since last week because Seattle and Snow don't mix. And if CPS gets called because of neglect, one of her classmates was also walking to the bus and likely heard me yell at her as she crossed the street about coming back to change out of her slippers, because yeah I noticed and she's not skipping school tomorrow if she comes down with pneumonia..." so I have a defense. She's 15 and can make stupid decisions on her own. (At least they're berry/pink slippers.)
And since I have no cute kid photos...(is there a "pets" symbol? Or does he count as one of my kids since I generally like him better because he behaves and listens to me? Mostly. lol.)
George says Happy Valentine's Day. It's our second one with him, it turns out. We got him one year and four days ago.
Pretty much every day, we look at each other and say, “How did we get SUCH a cute kid?” I’ve seen my baby pictures, and honestly, I’m as astonished as anyone.
