My kid has a red shirt with a heart on it that says something like "friends forever" on the inside. Which is great, because her pre-school calls today "friendship day."
DS is wearing a Love tee today - it’s hard finding something that is a) long sleeved (WTF to that, hello, it’s February) and b) isn’t rife with a gross sentiment. My kid doesn’t need a tee that talks about ladies wanting him.
My Mom bought DD a Valentine's shirt saying, "Sorry boys, Daddy is my Valentine"
BARF. It went right into the donate pile.
My Mom stopped by last night to give VDay stuff to the kids (junk gifts are her love language) and she mentioned she can't wait to see pictures of the shirt she bought on her tomorrow.
So. To post FB pictures of DD in a different heart shirt (without the gross wording) or to just not post pictures at all.
Someone in DS’s class is wearing that shirt today 😢. I noticed a lot of short sleeves too since everybody is caught in the seasonally inappropriate conundrum.

My STBXH took the kids out last night to get ME flowers and chocolate. It was so thoughtful and I like that he is showing our kids how to gift. I was surprised, and very impressed too. My oldest set his alarm for 6am and then snuck upstairs to put out three handmade cards from the kids, the vase of flowers, and the chocolate. Made my day.

My kid literally yelled "happy valentine's day!" at every single person he saw. He and the pizza guy had like a 3 minute conversation, heh.
He got a bag full of valentines from preschool, and 12 of 13 were store-bought, and the thirteenth was a wallet-sized card with a photo of a girl in his class, all Shutterfly Christmas card style. I texted it to everyone I know and was like "IS THIS A THING? Because this CANNOT be a thing - who has time for this?!" Everyone I sent it to was horrified, and no else had ever seen something like it before. THANK GOD.

DD lost a tooth yesterday. It's been super wiggly for a while so DH had some dollar bills ready. He forgot to make the switch last night. For the first time ever, he panicked and I was calm, but he compounded the problem. I know this happens, so I told her that the tooth fairy probably got confused because she wasn't sleeping in her room and we'll try again tonight.
(She's been sleeping on an air mattress in our room for a week or so because she was putting up a fight about sleeping in her room and we gave up.)
In my mind, this is great - this will force her to go back to sleeping in her room. Instead, DH puts the money under the pillow on her bed in her room and tells her to look. So now, the tooth fairy left random money but didn't take the tooth. She even called him on it and asked if he just put the money there.
Shorti picked out cute puppy Valentine's from Target and addressed them all and off she went.
She then came home with a bag with some crazy shit in it. Most of her classmates also had simple Valentine's. Some tattoos. Etc. But three had whole bags of candy and one was a heart shaped box of chocolates! Not small! What the heck people!
I was shocked. Also it didn't have a name on it so she doesn't even know which kid handed that out since she missed the actual party.
