I have typically been a library reader, with the exception of popular fiction like the hunger games, where there are hundreds on the wait list.
I just had to return an ebook that I was only 20% through. I am now 4th in line to get it again. But I waaant it now. I just do not know if I can get myself to spend $12 on it....

Yes, we have a wall of bookshelves in our den and a big book collection. Sometimes if I like a library book enough, I'll order it from Amazon. Other times I'll drop in to a bookstore and see what looks good. I mostly do that at independent and used bookstores, but there's a Barnes and Noble right next door to Anthropologie, and I've been known to hit up both in an afternoon.
I don't have a Kindle or ereader and I'm not very interested in getting one. .
I didn't think I'd love mine but I don't want to live without it now! I only bought it ecause we went on a long trip and I didn't want to carry books. But it's been awesome for the library.
I buy books but they come from library book sales, yard sales, thrift stores. I also use my library for some things even though their selection is bad, there's always inter-library loan.
I never buy books and I read a lot. If my library loan is expiring, I turn off the wireless on my Kindle so that the book won't disappear until I turn it back on. I only do this if it's only going to take me a day or two to finish though.

Here's the funny thing about my library's online books. You can only have them for 14 days checked out, but they don't take them off my ereader, I just can't access it via the library. So even though it's not checked out by me on my account, it's still on my nook.
This is my first library ebook (they didn't have it for a long time) so I'm not sure if that's going to be fixed or not.

I was not a book buyer until I got my Nook. I will not buy an eBook if I can get it through the library, no matter how long I have to wait. Otherwise, I typically try only to buy books if I have Barnes and Noble gift cards (which is my typical request when people ask me what I want for Christmas/birthday) or if I am going on a trip and there's nothing appealing/available in the library's eBook selection.
Re: library books left on your Nook after the expiration. While the book file stays on my Nook after the book's checkout period has ended (e.g. the file does not self-delete), if I try to open it the Nook will not let me and gives me an error message to the effect that it has expired. Same if I try to open it on Adobe Digital Editions. My DH has a Kindle, though, and for some reason he can keep accessing eBooks after they expire as long as he doesn't connect his Kindle to the Internet.

Good to know, I actually haven't gone back to the book b/c I got it for vacation and then we got back and my laptop was fried and well yeah, things have been crazy the last couple weeks.

If we end up going to Europe next year like we're hoping, I might buckle down and get an ereader with Internet access.

I buy books, I buy ebooks. I like supporting the authors I enjoy reading. DH and I turned our living room into a library--walls lined with filled bookcases, a desk, a couple of chairs, and a couch--nothing else in the room. And we have piles of books/full bookcases in every other room of the house as well. My parents and I also pass books we read around. They pass on books none of us want to keep to a group at their church that gives them to low income families.
I don't read in a scheduled enough manner to deal with library due dates. Sadly, I haven't even been to our county library in the ~7 years I've lived here. I actually love libraries as well, and used to hang out in them on a regular basis.
Yes, but I try to limit myself. I use paperbackswap.com a lot, but with shipping costs I'm wondering if I'm actually saving money that way. I get a lot of free kindle books, but I still buy some occasionally.
I wont spend the money on books when I know I can get them at the library. Yeah, there are often long waiting lists, but I am patient. I really cant see spending $25.00+ on a book when I can read for free in a month or so.
I was a hold out on even getting a kindle till I realized i could get library books on it.

This.
First, I could never support my reading habit. I go through books way too fast. If I have to limit myself to keep to a budget, why bother having the ereader? I'm still frequenting the library and doing most of my reading the old fashioned way.
Second, I *like* the old fashioned way. I'll use the iPad for Netflix and Internet browsing and read/send email on my Droid. But there's something about the feel of a book in my hands that I'll never give up. Nothing like settling into my comfy chair with a book and cup of tea or coffee to relax for a while.

I'll take a look this weekend and see.
I had a kobo and it's the same. They will never delete unless I manually remove them. However, my kobo died and I'm trying to hold off until Xmas for a new one. I'm reading on the iPad until then, which forces me to delete them :-(
