I’m off for Presidents’ Day. I’ve been dealing with a terrible cold all weekend and I can’t do anything about it (pregnant) so I have DS binging on Nick Jr. Parent of the year.
I also have some really annoying back pain. I’m falling apart.
BB and MH have the day off, I do not. But I WFH so it's interesting. So far I've taken breaks for "dance parties" and helping BB bounce.
I am finally much better after the "flu" (in quotes bc my flu test was negative but I had a fever for 5 days, pretty sure it was the flu) but all I want to do is take a nap. I hope you feel better soon icedcoffee.
DD2 had her 1 month appointment today and she is 94% for weight! DD1 always struggles to stay on the charts, so this is a nice feeling to have. It’s funny, because DD1 had no issues breastfeeding yet we fought for every ounce, and we’ve had all kinds of issues with DD2 and yet she’s thriving. These kids are absolutely nothing alike.
How do you know when your kid is an ear infection?
C slept like crap last night, but I never had to go in. We got him up at 730 and he was OUT. He drank his milk very slowly and just hasn't really woke up for the day (now 9 am). He didnt touch his breakfast. Forehead thermometer says 100.5. He's been fussy lately, and screaming every time I lay him down for a diaper change. I assumed those were toddler ailments. His poops have all been soft the last week, and a little paler than normal.

I finally pulled the trigger on a Peloton and it is life changing. Esp for days like today where I have the day off and one kid is home barfing/sick so I can just go to my garage and workout and never have to leave the house. The hype is real.
konapoppy, I cannot remember--what region are you in?
S sleeps through the night for the most part unless he is sick. Has been doing great recovering from a cold and has been sleeping like a rockstar.
Except this weekend, when we had house guests. Friday night he woke up once and after rocking him for a few minutes he went back to sleep. Saturday he would not calm down and finally I brought him into bed with us, where he decided that waking up at 3:30 for the day was a good idea. Last night same thing, was waking up and crying every 30 minutes so we finally brought him in bed at 3ish and he kept trying to play. I think he finally fell asleep at 4, but in such a way that I was confined to 6" of our kink sized bed, lol. My back hurts and I am exhausted.
I am so glad our house guests left today so I can just have him CIO and get back to normal!
hamster, we have not ever had to deal with this, knock on wood, but I would look for signs of him rubbing or tugging his ear. That is what I have always been told.
We did have a virus going around here that wiped out almost the entire daycare. Low grade fever and no appetite. It lasted about 4-5 days.

Yeah, it's really the sudden refusal to lay down that has me wonder.
konapoppy, it is stupid cold! I was supposed to take advantage of my day off and run this morning, but it was literally freezing, so I skipped it. Today looks like spring, though. 🤗
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

So far neither H or I are sick, so that's good.
I thought S might have had an ear infection awhile back when he was sick in December--same issues. Not laying down, but also tugging at his ear a bit, etc. I brought him in and she saw no sign of an ear infection. It could be that they are stuffed up more when they lay down so that is more annoying to them?
konapoppy, that is wild! I will have to text my cousins to see if they got anything in Marin!

It's so hard when they can't tell us what's wrong! Even more so when half their symptoms are also that of being a toddler.
We gave him motrin in case it was teeth related, and it knocked the fever down. He's super clingy but at least eating a snack right now and showing signs of life.
Too bad we had plans for target to continue our stupid overnight diaper quest, but oh well. H has the day off so that's good news.

Yep, I'm full on addicted. I can't take a rest day. I just use the app but it's awesome. I did 3 live rides in a row this morning!

Are you new at it? Mine just came Saturday and I think I'm 4 or 5 rides in (of course some are short). I did Denis' 80s ride today and will do his 90s ride later. Going to PM you!

I've had my Sunny bike since November, I'm at around 113 rides now. I was on Denis' 80's ride this morning too! Did his 80's and 90's and Emma's Groove ride, though I had to mute her and turn on my own music. I just can't get into her music, she's kind of boring to me, but there are so many others I love!
FYI- DH discovered this weekend that Sofia the First is no more. No new episodes will be made and Forever Royal was the series finale.
My kid was obsessed with Sofia for so long that DH and I were like “a part of her childhood is over!” He claims that most Disney Junior shows only have 4 seasons, but Doc McStuffins has more than that.
I’m aware how crazy this post is, but it was just one of those things that happened over the weekend.
Me too! I was planning on getting one with our tax refund. Well... that’s not happening.
DS got the stomach bug again this weekend. He got it 2 weeks ago, so I was hoping for some immunity or something. We were on our way to a birthday party and he got sick everywhere. I still can’t get the smell out of the car seat. DH is traveling for work this week, so I’m hoping DS stays healthy because I can’t miss anymore work. I feel like DS and I are always sick.
I feel like I need to clarify, I don't actually own a Peloton, I just use a cheap Amazon bike with the Peloton app. It's still awesome though!
ah! Good to know! The app is good?
It's great! There are other classes besides cycling, like running, walking, cardio, boot camp, yoga, etc. I bought a cadence sensor and heart rate monitor to go with the bike so I can see those things on the screen when I'm doing a class.
