Stay away from Oakes. Looks nice in the lobby and such but the room was run down. Our room had an odor that was very musty. There is also an entire wing that is a run down old rusted motel. Luckily we were in the tower but I would not stay there again.

We stayed at the Crown Plaza on the Canadian side last summer. It was fine, and close to everything we wanted to be close to. HOWEVER, the rooms were tiny. And by tiny, I mean we spent zero time besides sleeping/getting ready in the room. We were constantly in each other's way. But the price was right
We stayed at the Marriott on the Falls hotel last July, and liked it. We were on the top floor, and had an amazing view of the falls. My 6yo fell asleep on the floor watching the light show through the floor-to-ceiling windows. We could see the fireworks from our room as well, and the room was pretty spacious.
Cons: Slow elevators. We didn’t have any issues going down because we were on the top floor, but sometimes had to wait a bit at the bottom for an elevator up. Also, this hotel is at the far end of row of hotels, so it can be a bit of a walk, but our 6yo did fine with walking, so it wasn’t too bad.

Thanks all! We booked at the embassy suites. Now if anyone has restaurant reccs I’ll take those too! We are going for H’s 40th and it is our first time leaving the girls.
