Anyone have a temporal thermometer they like? My kids are too squirmy for underarm (and it's not very accurate) and generally don't tolerate oral either. The doctor recommend temporal as the most accurate anyway.

We have the Exergen & I don't feel like it's accurate at all. We have a Vicks Speed Read underarm. It only takes 8 seconds so it might work for squirmy kids.

Yep same. The exergen is ok to see if I need the speed read haha. I have like 4 speed reads throughout the house.
My Braun ear thermometer is the absolute worst. I'll get readings that says 98, 101, 103 back to back. I don't know why I continue to use it. I am also looking for a temporal one too.
I just bought an exergen to replace our old exergen that doesn't seem to register above 98 anymore. I wanted to get something different, but it seems like there really isn't a great thermometer out there. It's currently on sale at Costco and there's a rebate on the website.
From my experience, unless you’re going to spend about $500 on a medical grade unit, they all kind of suck. At work (child care) we had the Exergen for a while and now we stick with the Braun Thermoscan (ear). I honestly can’t remever why we switched. We do consult with a pediatrician and I think she may have encouraged us to switch. We’ve numbered them and insist that our staff use the same device while tracking a child’s temp.
i have one that does ear and temporal - i can confirm that they feel warm with the temporal, but the ear one seems accurate in my very limited experience with comparing it to the pediatrician's office when DS2 was sick. I think it's just a Welby brand from Aldi.
