I'm watching Queer Eye and trying to finish my IKEA shoe cabinet. The guy I met at the Wordpress GTG figured out how I jacked up the menu on my website and it was a simple fix! Phew. Still other things I need to do but it's a relief to have that fixed.
Putting yourself out there socially is the damn worst. Hats off to people on the dating scene because just trying to make a new friend is stressful as fuck.
We recently reconnected with a college aquaintence who lives in the area when a mutual friend was in town. We have a lot in common now as actual adults. We have a free evening coming up and I messaged one of the couple to see if they were free and wanted to get dinner or something. I got a very noncommittal answer back. I have no idea if the answer I got is because they really Aren't sure about their plans and I should follow up in a few days or if this is a brush off. Ugh.

I'm having intestinal issues. I'm not sure what's wrong, but things feel really swollen, and my appetite is down, and I haven't been able to have a good BM or get any good farts out or anything. I'm really hoping it's not diverticulitis.
Shoe cabinet is assembled! I'm not sure how I'm going to attach it to the wall because my baseboards are thicker than the cutout. I'm afraid to trim it more.
Dear God- I love Queer Eye so much.
And I just got the email letting me know that I got accepted into the downtown food truck event. I get so much exposure from it. It's invaluable for my business so I'm relieved! I'm one of their most reliable vendors and last year they only signed me up for part of the season and gave the whole season to someone else. I was pissed because I knew they were going to drop out because of where they have to drive from, and sure enough they were done by June so I took over their slot in August.
We're ok, aside from a sump pump issue on Wednesday, but our garage is taking in water. It sucks.
Agreed! My H actually jumped up and down when he realized the temps were going to go below freezing last night. LOL.
We don't have a sump pump and now I'm wondering if we should pay to install one for the long term. But multiple of our neighbors who say they've never ever experienced flooding in 20+ years of living here (and who don't have sump pumps either) have had flooded basements this week. So I don't know if this really is just a shit fluke year, or...
I know this is why emergency funds exist, but I feel like I have done nothing but light money on fire with our stupid house this winter. (We also had an attic/roofing ventilation issue we had to fix). Sob.
Our house came with one - the previous owners installed in after a terrible thunderstorm like 10+ years ago. If you've never had issues with flooding before it's probably not necessary but I really do like ours.
I saw the show BeMore Chill last night on Broadway. It was excellent, you should definitely go see it if you have the chance. Afterwards there was a talkback with some of the cast that was really interesting.
Two people are on the same conference call in two different offices, and while they have their doors shut I can still hear them. The echo is driving me batty.

Our area of the cities has regular basement flooding any year that it either rains a lot or thaws fast. We have drain tiling with a sump and backup battery powered sump. For us it's worth it just for peace of mind- we don't have to panic every time a thunderstorm comes through.
Whenever we do any landscaping we also try to make small drainage improvements, like extending gutters, improving slope away from the house and putting down french drains. If you can so easy stuff to re-slope away from the foundation do that first.
It's a gorgeous day out. We had plans to meet friends at a brewery and sit outside.
Unfortunately on the way there I stumbled on an uneven sidewalk, tried to catch myself on a metal railing, and instead crashed face-first into it.
Now we'll be spending the evening at the walk-in clinic for the giant gash in my forehead, busted knee, and assorted pending nasty bruises. Fucking hell.

I have come to the awkward stage of hounding to fill my board of directors vacancies. I'll have 10 chapter members within ease of access at the conference I am attending next week. Oyyyyyyy.....
Has anyone ever had clothes custom-made for them? I always have a hell of a time finding pants that fit me properly ... wondering if the price for custom might be comparable to buying a quality pair and then having them altered.

I haven't but I'm trying to learn to sew my own clothes for the same reason. There are a number of people in a pattern company's FB group that sell custom clothing made from the company's patterns. They're all knit fabrics and so flattering when sizes are blended for a custom fit. It's called Patterns for Pirates.

I have a friend who’s launched a small batch clothing company sewing custom sizes of three pieces each month. It’s athletic, altheleisure, and lingerie clothing and may not be what you are looking for, but the prices seem reasonable to me, especially for custom sewn goods. This month it was a cardigan, a pair of wide leg pants, and a sports bra. Last month it was underwear, leggings and a tank.
