Holy crap. While filming GoT, she had two aneurysms, a stroke, and multiple brain surgeries. I'm glad that she's recovered, and hope nothing but the best for her from now on.
my sister in law had one during college while she was in the shower at my in laws house. It was when she and my BIL were still dating. They fortunately heard her fall and got her to the hospital right away. She did a year of rehab and was able to finish college. She still has some weakness on one side but it hasn't slowed her down much. It could have ended much differently. So scary.
A friend of mine is in the hospital right now with an aneurysm. She went to the hospital for an intense headache, was diagnosed with a sinus infection but they also did an MRI and found the aneurysm. She's older, just became a grandma a few months ago, but it was still completely unexpected.
I'm mostly a lurker but wanted to share that I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm exactly one year ago today and had a craniotomy to have it clipped last June. I was fortunate that when I told my doc during a routine physical that I was getting bad headaches behind my left eye she ordered an MRI. It all could have gone very differently since when my neurosurgeon got in there, he discovered it was so thin that it would have ruptured sooner than later. Right as I was being diagnosed my boss died of a ruptured brain aneurysm. And my grandma had an aneurysm that was diagnosed only because she had double vision. I appreciate Emilia Clarke so much for creating awareness about brain aneurysms and all of you for sharing your stories. I'm now making it part of my life work to raise awareness. Just wanted to share.
