Just completed week 2 of my 6 week bootcamp. I am doing better than I thought I would at getting up in the mornings - we start at 5am.
However, my biggest amazement is my friend who is also in the bootcamp. She's a consultant oncologist and has been at bootcamp on mornings when she's spent most of hte night with dying patients. I am so impressed with her.

I had to cancel the massage I had booked this afternoon because the furnace repair folks are running 3 hours behind, and the next available time they could come wasn't until Monday. We've already been without any heat for 2 days.

I'm so over everything right now.
This is such a bummer! I'm sorry this furnace saga is ruining your week.

H and I agree talking about taking a trip for our 5-year anniversary (which is in 2021), maybe to the Caribbean, and I don't know how far out is customary to start booking. A year?
I just received a summons for Jury Duty for the first time ever. I'm so excited!
This is going to be exactly like Law & Order. Don't try and change my mind.
I'm so jealous! I've only been summoned twice and neither time did they call my name for even the voir dire part, so I never got to show off my Law & Order knowledge. I hope you have better luck!

Rooms and such are cheapest the further out you are, so I always book as soon as I know when I want to go. Then I just watch flights.
My dog needed dental surgery and today is the day. I know it's not a high risk procedure but I'm unhappy with her being under anesthesia. If you have any good thoughts to spare please send them her way.
Does anyone want to talk about baseball? I have nothing to talk about yet, I'm just generally excited. Also a reminder to buy my game tickets for July...

My Mariners are #1 in the MLB right now! (because of those two early games in Japan) I'm not going to today's "Opening" Day game, but I'll definitely be going to several this season. They always let me down, but it's "tradition" to root for them.
Have a new presentation at 3pm. Some of the changes it outlines are final, but faculty aren't happy with them. And those faculty have signed up to attend. Tonight, there will be wine.

I'm kind of sad about opening day this year- we cheer for the Mets, who are in town for the Nats home opener, and DH and I work pretty much next door to the stadium. Any other year we would have jumped on the chance to take the afternoon off for the day game, or at least catch one of the other games in this series but he's OOT this year.
So now I'm just wondering if I can leave early enough to avoid traffic at the end of the game. Whomp whomp.

I wouldn't hurt to keep an eye of everything your interested in going into 2020. It might give you an idea of how prices fluctuate during the year, or any specials that get offered, that you can then use in 2021. I got a good deal on the safari portion of our next trip by asking about an off-season special that they hadn't yet released for this year.

Today I had to ask a court to order emergency medical treatment for my grandmother. She bit and threatened to shoot the police officers who went to help me get her to the hospital.
Bring books. And your computer. And work you need to finish. And...
The $23 I got was awesome. Worth taking the day off.
Make sure to double check your courthouse's rules - no electronics are allowed in the ones here.
Do they feed you if you're selected? I've had to go in twice but never been selected.
Look up Senator Clair McCaskill's Twitter from when she had to report. Senator and former prosecutor. People were giving her tips like sit by the electric outlet and she gave commentary on which station would be safe to turn on in a jury room full of strangers (someone chose HGTV). She ended up on a jury, which stopped the tweeting.
I've been summoned twice in the past year but after calling each night for a week, didn't have to report.
