I feel like I read ideas about this here before, but my searches are failing me...
Do you have any recommendations for vacations that have childcare options (kids club or similar - not an in room nanny). The kids would be 9,7, and 1 when we go. We are considering a Disney cruise (we took one in the past and enjoyed it), but would like to branch out. We want to do a lot of activities with our kids, but also have some time alone.
Royal Caribbean cruises have a better kids club than Disney. They have a lot of planned programming and activities, instead of just loosely supervised play time.
I think a lot of places don’t offer kids club type activities for ages as low as 1 so that may limit you if you’re looking for alone time. A friend of mine is planning her second trip to club med in Punta Cana and recommended it to us because we have a 2 year old and 4 month old and they offer care for infants. They have a location somewhere in FL too that I briefly looked in to. We ultimately decided on something else with no child care so I have no first hand knowledge.
The Hyatt's in Guam and Saipan have great kids clubs.
I would also check out Disney's Hawaiian resort! (Their cruise ships have amazing nurseries for the under 2 age group! They got my 12 month old to sleep for an afternoon nap!)
ETA: Isn't there a swanky resort in Jamaica (Blue something?) that issues out private nannies to each family? I've had it recommended to me on here a few times.
If you want to explore Zion I highly recommend Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort. It’s just outside the park and has a ton of activities (including a kids club) but then you can spend time in Zion. We loved it!!
We just went to Club Med Ixtapa Pacific in January and we loved it. We had a 22 month old and a 4 year old and we were looking for a super relaxing vacation with kids clubs for little ones. It was amazing. The kids had a great time in their clubs and were really well taken care of. I’d go back again in a heartbeat.
we stayed at the Vero Beach resort by Disney and loved it. IT is a slightly smaller resort, but they have a great pool with a 9 hole mini golf course right by the pool area. They have crafts every day plus pool games and activities, plus some you can sign up for for a small fee. there are tennis courts, bike rentals, sailing lessons for older kids, a kids club even where they take your kids for three hours, feed them, do crafts and games. There are one or two character meals (sign up well in advance), plus smores a couple times a week and one movie showing outside at least once a week.
Plus we took a day to drive up to the Kennedy Space Center, which is awesome.
