I am sick. Plus overwhelmed at work. My dog keeps pooping in the house on one particular rug, and today she also vomited, so I've been scraping up and scrubbing disgusting stuff more than usual. I'm starting to worry that she's got an obstruction of some sort and debating whether I should take her in to the vet, but she's still acting normal, although her poops are a bit loose and her appetite is hit or miss.
The house cleaners are coming tomorrow, so today is a crazy sprint to get everything tidied so they can do the deep-cleaning. And DH had to work late. And we're still dealing with the aftermath of our first experience with lice, which I can't help be paranoid about although we haven't found any live ones in a few days now.
I'm also really frustrated with myself that I can't seem to make any forward progress on other things that I need to do (like scheduling the annual septic inspection and seeing an orthopedist about my ankles), so they crop up in my mind, I get stressed about them, and then I forget about them and don't actually do anything about them (because I'm busy doing more urgent things, see all of the above) until the next time they pop up in my brain, usually when I'm in a spiral of obsessing over all the things on my to-do list that I haven't done. But this seems to be the story of my life.
People who take my napkins but didn’t buy anything. Petty and irrational, I know but it drives me crazy.
Or even worse. Come in, use the WASHROOM (for 15+ mins so you knew what he was doing, ICK), take some napkins, order an ice water (w/ lemon!!!) & leave! 😐
We had a fellow local business owner do this 3+ times/ week. We had to start charging $1 for waters to go. Un-shockingly- he’s no longer in (car detailing) business.
Shooting up heroin? That's what happened to me. And then he robbed me, so that was fun.
This is really minor compared to what a lot of people deal with, but I'm really pouting today about the $30 copay I have to spend each time I see a physical therapist. I've had some pain issues since December and finally had an appointment today, and she wants to see me 2x a week for the next month. That will be $240 that I did not plan to spend, which is a lot of money in our budget. I'm already feeling stressed about money for a number of reasons so this is not what I needed. I think I'm largely frustrated because I used to have unicorn health insurance that barely had a co-pay for anything, no premiums, and my employer kicked money into a FSA too. Now I pay premiums, fund my own FSA, have copays, and I actually have a slightly lower salary. Universal healthcare cannot come quickly enough, and I'm one of the lucky ones without any major health problems or chronic conditions!
I’ve just started seeing a PT as well as I got tired of being unable to run because of a weird ankle thing. My copay is 30% apparently. It’s pretty annoying because I could to to the orthopedic doc, get X-rays, mri etc and all that and rack up thousands in bills for a $35 copay. But I’m choosing the “cheaper” option yet insurance wants me to actually pay more
(we have a bare bones basic freezer on top fridge that i can't stand. The top is chin height so i have to crouch to see into it and is way too small for a family. French doors have always appealed.
I’m curious to see why someone dislikes it.
Our last rental before buying had a French door fridge and I loved it. A side by side conveyed with our house and I hate it so much. The freezer is too narrow to fit anything and the fridge is narrow and deep, so stuff ends up lost in the back, especially on the top shelf. I want a far far smaller French door fridge, like we used to have.
Can’t open the crisper drawers without open BOTH fridge doors, water filter is inside the fridge so it eats up height space on the top shelf, I miss the shelves in the side by side for organizing condiments and drinks, constantly getting frozen food boxes crunched when the drawer in the bottom freezer can’t roll, since there is an angle in the freezer drawer- can’t stack stuff so it’s like wasted space on the angle, stuff gets lost in the back of the drawer of the French freezer, miss being able to put frozen pizzas upright for storage (have to go flat in a French and it’s blocking everything else!!).

uggh I'm right there with you and really feeling the pain from what I am paying out of pocket. We have EXCELLENT insurance but no therapists take insurance around here any more, and my insurance won't pay for dietician visits unless I am diabetic or have heart issues. I'm seeing a dietician and therapist at an eating disorder clinic and paying about $400 out of pocket. My insurance is supposed to reimburse me a little bit since I do have out of network coverage but they are slow AF about it and I have to submit all the paperwork which is time consuming and complicated. Finding an extra $400 in our monthly budget is very hard and when I was going weekly to both I had to use savings for it. I also just told them I wanted to take a month off for financial and super busy life reasons and my therapist gave me a lot of push back. She's probably right but uggh. So much red in my budget.

I’m Too cheap to replace a working appliance.
As a fellow French-door dislike-r, I will add: skimpy produce drawers that are not as deep, and bits of junk accumulating in the bottom of the freezer drawer, either bits that fall out of the fridge (the stuff that might otherwise accumulate under your bottom crisper drawer), or dust/etc. that starts out on the lip of the drawer and falls in when you open it.
and thanks for starting a thread where I could just scream it lol I know I’m not really a regular here anymore. Not like I was on MM years ago. But, I needed to get that out. 😁
I’m a bit of an autodidact, so I’ve now done enough research to write the lit review for my case study. (And I’m enough of a dork that several of my dorky friends and I have joked about how cool it would be to be a coauthor on your own case study). So I know where we are and where we are going. I just want to start already!

Ah, okay. Fair complaints! Mine didn’t have a water filter, so that space wasn’t lost. We don’t keep much in our freezer, so that wasn’t a problem. With the side by side I can’t fit a carvel cake, which we discovered the week we moved in, after having bought it. I think that’s the day I started hating this fridge lol! But I also won’t replace a working appliance (and if I were to, the washing machine our sellers also left would go first, they had terrible appliaotaste lol).

I flew into Logan last night, and after we landed at 8:30 we sat on the tarmac for an hour because they didn’t have a gate for us, which is exactly what you want to do after a 7 hour flight.
Then after clearing immigration and going to the baggage claim we all stood at the baggage carousel for another hour waiting for our bags. At this point it was 11:00, it had been two and a half hours since landing, and we were still there and waiting for luggage. Someone finally found a person to talk to and they told us that they didn’t have a ramp agent so they couldn’t offload any luggage. Well, you need to find a ramp agent, because you have a large mob of angry and annoyed people who have been standing at the baggage carousel for over an hour now.
We finally made it out of the airport at 11:30. Three hours after we landed.
It’s not like our flight unexpectedly surprised them out of nowhere. Why was there no gate and no one to offload luggage?

Take her to the vet. When this happened with Barney, it turned out he had a major issue. It wasn't blockage, but was pancreatitis. It's easy to treat but can get bad if not treated.
I called to get my littlest dog groomed, expected a week or so wait. No. 2 months to get an appt. What the ever loving fuck? I'm tempted to do it, just because I know then I'll get into the rotational system, but also I don't want to do it because fuck that.
We just hired a new admin at our church who is non-binary. This is SO CONFUSING for the vast majority of (old) church members. Our pastor told them (the admin), "We're really excited you're here, but I'll be honest, it might take a few people a while to get pronouns and stuff right." On one hand, most of them probably don't know anyone who is non-binary or trans for that matter. On the other, it's not that hard (you get used to using they/them/theirs) and also most of these people are on our LGBTQIA outreach committee. *headdesk*

Yeah, I have an appointment for her today. She has started to have blood in her stool and isn't eating much, although she's still very perky and energetic. I'm worried.

litebright, I hope she recovers. If it is pancreatitis (and it sounds just like Barney's issue), it's a reasonably easy fix (low fat diet). Barney sends lickies.

I always think of how Prince said when he changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol, people called him Sir instead. Or how when women get married no one bats an eye at Jane Smith becoming Jane Jones. Or how the entire British aristocracy is like, "this is Edward James, Lord Snowden of the Outer Isles. Sometimes he's Ed, sometimes Snowden, sometimes Mr. James, sometimes Sprig, his childhood nickname. Also, all of this will change when his father dies and he becomes Earl of Lancastershire. Also, the Queen is plural."
Name and pronoun shifting just is not that major an adjustment I have or anyone else should have any problem with.
I bought my daughter and her friend a dress for twin day, but I need to exchange one for a different size. It’s not searchable on their app or website. So I’m not sure which store to check.
Also I got Botox for the first time because I’m turning 36 in a couple weeks and apparently it’s freaking me out. I have a head ache and I keep finding myself having to relax my forehead muscles - it’s no wonder I have wrinkles. I’m terrified I’m going to not relax it enough and I will somehow end up with Ramona eyes
Our new house has a French door fridge and I loathe it... want to trade??
Why do you hate it?

It’s so narrow that none of our Costco sized food fits in the freezer. In general it just feels really cramped and there’s no good way to organize it.
I would love to have a French door refrigerator with a bottom freezer, but I’d settle for going back to the basic freezer on top kind that we used to have.
@angryharpy , the passing on the right in this city is truly the worst.
I have so many vents, primarily two this week. I'm so sick of our screwed up medical/insurance system. We're trying to find the best ADHD medication for DD and our (pretty good) insurance hardly covers any of the ones our doctor would like to use. I have spent DAYS of my time trying to navigate this. I wish we could make medical decisions based on what we/our providers think is best instead of what insurance will cover.
My other complaint is that we decided to sell our rental property and our tenants haven't replied. It's making my anxiety crazy because we need to make plans for getting it listed. I'm not very good at being patient without obsessing.
We're doing the same (selling with renters) and our renter just emailed me to ask me to let him know when the house sale is complete because he'll move by then - AFTER I gave him one month notice on 29 April and the end of the month is soon. FUCK!!! If this guy screws up my sale I'm going to be pissed off. Especially after I've given him tons of breaks and offered to let him take some beds with him if he wants them (or he can sell them) as we just want one of the 4. Argh. Selling houses is awful.
