I'll copy an earlier response of mine from a similar thread...
We were given one to test when DD2 was born and I had such high hopes.
It was a total failure for us. When my kids cried as newborns, they either wanted to nurse or be held. The Snoo could not solve either problem, and honestly just seemed to make DD2 more upset.
We were gifted one back when you had to buy them (no rental option). It looks great in nursery photos! Functionally it was....OK. We weren't able to use it until around 3 mo because DD had colic and reflux and couldn't sleep on a flat surface. After that it did work, but the SNOO sacks were somewhat of a pain to get the baby in/out of, and if the baby cried for more than 5 min or so, the SNOO would shut off for "safety". We did a lot of sitting next to it and manually re-starting it so that we could keep it on the low, gentle rocking setting for longer periods of time while DD settled down. The other thing I didn't love was how tightly it swaddles the legs. Towards the end (age 4-5mo) when DD started wanting to sleep with her knees bent, I would un-zip the bottom part of the snoo sack and then put a swaddle blanket over her legs instead.
Overall, it's a good product, but with limitations. If it cost a hell of a lot less I think those limitations would be OK. Renting one to see if your baby likes it sounds fantastic, but I could never really recommend that someone buy one outright since for us the return period ended long before we knew whether it worked for us.
I have it but I only have a four-day old baby yet so not much to report as he’s only been home two nights (and I was readmitted to L&D last night for complications so I wasn’t home). I bought it in September and lent it to my brother / SIL for their kid and I know they liked it. I have a few friends who have also really liked it. When are you due? I’ll be happy to share thoughts when we have more experience with it.
So sorry you were readmitted — I had postpartum complications and it’s a hard way to start off. Hope things are doing better.
We have two rentals, for our twins. We had 4 nights at 1 month old where one baby would sleep all night and the other woke up once. The past three nights both babys (now 2 months old) slept all night.
They make incline adapters for the snoo now! Baby isn’t here yet but considering my other 2 needed to sleep at an incline I went ahead and got the adapters
