Does anyone take Zoloft? I started taking it at night 5 days ago and not only is it making me so sleepy I’m nauseous all the time. Just wondering how long this should last.
D decided 1:45 am, approaching day 5, was a good time to finally poop. Of course it's not even timed with a feed so it's just an extra wake up and he is WIDE awake.

Well if I pooped for my first time in 5 days I'd be pretty wide awake too.

Lol, valid point. The whole up ended up being an hour long, which is rough.
My DS2 isn’t a newborn anymore but his sleep as progressively gotten worse and worse in the last 2 months. He will be 6 months on the 22nd and he woke so many times last night that I ended up sleeping with him in the recliner. I broke down in the middle of the night and bought the Taking Cara Babies 5-24 month sleep course.
suzv - Share a review after you go through the sleep course! I've been thinking about buying it for a while because DD still needs to be soothed to sleep and doesn't nap well during the day, but I don't know if it would apply to that or if the focus is more on STTN issues.

Any favorite snacks? I feel like I’m an effort to avoid dairy and gassy foods I eat the same things over and over and i need something else. I’m hungry all the time.

Picky bars? Ds2 is 11mo but I’m still pumping and nursing him a lot and these r easy to eat/carry around and healthy without having to portion out a bunch of nuts of trail mix.
lovelyshoes I've been eating picky bars too (just be careful because some of them have caffeine, would suck to eat one in the middle of ht enight if your kid goes back to sleep!).
I also bought 100 Calorie packs of trail mix, some chili spiced mangoes from Trader Joes, and I mix myself up a protein shake before bed every night in case the early morning goes haywire. I use Ripple milk (I don't eat dairy) and a whey protein.

I bought Ferber's book and I'm a big fan. He has a whole chapter on sleep associations. We plan on using his method of sleep training around 4 months.

If you like Ferber take a look at precious little sleep too.

Teeth? It always took me a couple of nights of “WHY WONT YOU SLEEP!?” to be like ohhhhh duh and give ibuprofen.

Anyone else’s baby having a blow out for almost all poops? We’ve changed diapers, but they still leak around the leg. I’m so tired of cleaning the car seat and swing.

Yikes! That's not fun. Is it possible you need to go up in size?

YES. Sizing up her diapers helped, but I'm pretty sure that DD just has monster poops that refuse to be contained. We've found that the trick is to just get to them as quickly as possible. If we hear her poop in the car, we pull over and change her in the first parking lot we can find. If we let her sit in it until we get to wherever we're going, it's going to leak out somewhere and involve a full outfit change and car seat cleaning. Same thing when she's eating - We have to stop mid-session to change her or get a waterproof pad under her to catch the inevitable mess.

Size up! When they're blowing out all the time, it's time to size up. Don't pay attention to the weights on the box.
Diaper related... I ordered an Aggie cloth diaper cover from an Etsy seller. I have 3 other diapers from this seller that I'm happy with. I was super excited to have E2 wear this during game days this fall. It's cotton fabric sewn over top of the waterproof fabric. I recieved it a couple days ago and put it in the pail to wash when I do my regular diaper laundry. Well, I guess a wet diaper had wicked into this diaper, because the maroon parts bled onto the lighter colored parts! It hasn't been washed or worn! I'm so sad. I've already messaged the seller and included a pic but haven't heard back yet.
And the cotton fabric she used? I have other items with this same fabric (quilt, burp rags) and have had no issues with bleeding.
Took Z to the walk in baby weigh station at one of our local hospitals today and girlfriend is officially past her birth weight! By an ounce, but still. Plus I did a weighted feed since she decided she was hungry after I stripped her down and she got in 2.5oz in 10 minutes from one boob...I'm a data/numbers nut when it comes to baby feedings so I like having that info

woowookatespadepooh8402 this has been happening since birth. I’ll try a size up which always worked for my older, but the baby is barely over 10 pounds and the size 1 is big on him, nb too small. I always have something under him now for the blow outs, but it still happens. He poops with such force and it’s soft so it goes everywhere. Feedings are going well. He loves bottles, so supplementing has been easy, just hate how fast he drinks it even with the slowest nipple.
Suggestions for an EFF baby struggling with gas? We already: -use dr Browns w/ 0-3 month nipples -hydrolyzed protein and reduced lactose formula -hold up for 10 min after eating -try to burp halfway through and after eating -bicycle his legs several times a day He takes about 20 minutes - 30 minutes to drink 3-4 ounces so idk if going to a slower flow preemie nipple would help?
melmaria now Ds3 is a month old Our night nanny made a suggestion to get him to start working towards a 4 hour stretch which might help you. After his first wake up (normally the longest stretch) try to get him back to sleep without feeding. For us we give the paci, make a shush sound and pat his tummy when he is in the snoo -if he doesn’t settle we pick him up and walk or rock him back to sleep -we are only on night 3 of this and it’s worked but she said if it doesn’t than feed after 10min of trying to soothe in another way OR if he starts getting more upset

namasteak you’ve tried mylicon drops and/or gripe water? The drops helped my oldest. I also put him on my stomach and that pressure and warmth helped a lot too, but mostly he got better as he got older. I hope your little guy feels better soon.

DS had horrible blowouts for months any time he was in his carseat. And it would always always always be on the way to daycare in the morning. He eventually grew out of them.

I'm really hoping that we'll start having less blow outs once DD is eating more solid food and her poops firm up a little bit. I think the consistency is what makes them happen so often. Her diapers just can't seem to handle absorbing that much liquid as quickly as they need to.
