I am probably too lazy on sheets, but typically it is not every week, but every other week. I alternate ours plus the kids.
mellym, stay strong on the activities. I did well with kid 1, but peer pressure got to me on kid 2 and she started everything a year early. It didn't help the way that Daisy's are structured, and she loves to dance so much- like dance all over the house.
Talk to me more about the Roomba. There seem to be so many options now - do you have the actual name brand Roomba and like it?
waverly, I didn't do well with our first because there was only one so that's the reason I'm trying to stick to my guns and ignore the comments about it not being fair since DD1 started earlier...
I have the roomba brand but there are lots of other ones with varying reviews. I have an older model upstairs that sometimes gets stuck under the bed. A newer one that empties its own bin on the main floor.
Dropping the ball on the library summer program. No, I'm not downloading the app. No, I'm not going to retroactively remember which books you kids have read this summer. No, I'm not keeping up with the amount of minutes you've read.
I'll take you to the library every week or two (only bc I'm off) and remind you to read but I'm not expending anymore energy than that.
You guys are making me miss my Roomba. I had one through baby and toddler years and it was a total game changer. It forced me to do a quick clutter pick up each night before bed, ran it overnight, and then my house felt clean every morning. I never replaced it when it died but now I might need to shop around for a deal...
I will say on the roomba that it isn't great under the table with all the chairs there. We have the kind that we can put upside down on the table.
campermom, absolutely. There is a lot of responsibility that I push back on the kids. I will help them if they ask, but they are in charge. For example, our school does the 26 day countdown A-Z for the end of the year. I will post it on the refrigerator or their door but if they want to participate they do and if they don't they don't. Now that they can read, I am not like tomorrow is Hawaii day. DS never participates and DD was all into it last year, so I did do a bit more that year because she was all in, but she had to find the stuff around the house.
I dropped the ball on summer reading too campermom,. I just couldn't keep up and I have no idea what DD is reading or how long as one minute she is doing gymnastics and the next she has her nose in a book. I actually haven't taken her back to the library since 4th of July and she has been happy to read the books on her bookshelf.
How do Roomba's do with dogs? I can see my dog freaking out if the vacuum started vacuuming the living room while she was sleeping on her dog bed in the middle of the night. She gets free roam so she wanders her sleeping spot at night.
I don't have a dog, but I typically run it at the same time every day like 9 am, so it doesn't happen at night, and it is loud so night is not a great idea. It is best when you are out of the house, but doable however annoying when you are home. Some dogs are probably fine and some are not.
I scheduled DD1's first PT appointment and DH took her. I guess in my head I handed that ball to him because he scheduled the next appointments (I need to do better confirming with him). The night before her next appointment, he asked if I was taking her. Nope, not even on my radar and I have a meeting the same time. He took her and has been in charge of it ever since and the home exercises. She goes at 7am so this morning he got her out the door and took care of making sure she had her swimsuit/towel, etc for camp. I realized it on my way to work that I didn't even think about any of it and it felt so great!
mellym, yup DH did the Friday night Field Hockey. Someone mentioned something that was said during field hockey, and I was totally taken aback because the concept of Field Hockey totally left my brain because I wasn't in charge of it.

It's like it's not even taking up capacity in our brains when we aren't The Coordinators.
This must be how it feels for them for the majority of the stuff we do lol......oh? That exists? Pediatrician appointments.....hm. That's a thing. Wow
Ha campermom, yes! My favorite is when DH asks me where something is - like paper towels or dish towels. We have lived in our house for over 8 years and they've always been in the same place.

I had two roombas over 7 years ago and both broke. We never replaced or fixed them because it was a hassle and time consuming and pricey. I just bought a new robot vacuum on prime day for about $120 that is amazing so far. I haven’t spent time to do the bells and whistles yet but have just got the go button. We got the efury 11S.
ETA. Our dog was fine with the roomba. She would bark at it and run away playfully and bark and jump but was never scared just playing. We have caught our 3yo riding the new one (standing up like a surfer/scooter) so I’m more worried about that.
