I am giggling and wincing for you, but also impressed. Go get some sleep.
Good luck today at tryouts!! Your attitude is great though. You are not freaking out and are kind of it is what it is, I can only do my best.
Signed, nervous mom
Dear DH,
Yes I am a freak about savings. You saying we will have plenty of money for retirement, in my mind, is ludicrous. Does anyone every really have enough for retirement? When you talk about long term care, sickness, etc... I do realize my experience with my parents clouds my judgement a bit. But I don't want to be a burden to my kids. Plus, I want to have some fun and travel. We aren't going to be rolling in it by any means when you think about supporting yourself for 20 years or so. Yes it would be nice to have more money for extras and fun things. But that is not the fault of retirement savings right now. That is the fault of health care and the kids needing several hundreds of dollars each month for trips and extracurriculars.
Thanks for sleeping in the guestroom. You'll be there for the forseeable future.
You have been to the doctor several times for your snoring, and keep getting the same advice - lose some weight. So.. maybe do it? You have a bevy of FREE, healthy, no prep/time required options for breakfast and lunch, and we have small dinners. You have access to multiple FREE state of the art gyms, running trails, and showers to clean up afterwards. You do not have to rush home to pickup kids before daycare closes like I do. YOU HAVE NO EXCUSES.
Signed, Your bitch of a wife who really enjoyed not hearing you saw logs all night.
Dear Expedia You suck! Why did you have to cancel my hotel reservations for next week? Why? At least you refunded me my non-refundable first night since you cancelled and not me. Back to hotel shopping Grumpy Me
Dear rere, DD Good luck, I swear attitude is just as important as how well you perform. 186momx
DD I really hope you get your back hand spring this week. You were so close last night and it would be the greatest confidence booster. Biggest cheerleader mom!

Dear realtor, I appreciate you being instrumental in getting our offer "in the game" at the beginning of this whole house buying process. You have been less than impressive the remainder of the time and it has cost you listing our house. We were toying with the idea even though you aren't that ambitious, but you failing to tell us that the sellers screwed with the thermostat to make the furnace work and caused the AC to not work IN JULY 3 days before we close sealed your fate. You convinced us to give up a few thousand dollars already so we aren't going to let $100 ruin this whole thing. The realtor for my building is coming next week so don't be surprised when our house pops up and you had no idea. Signed, family functions could get awkward
Dear DH, I'm excited, nervous, happy and overwhelmed about this next adventure. Love, ready to really test our marriage

erinshelley21, wouldn't the sellers still have to disclose on the purchase agreement that the AC doesn't work, even if they told the realtor? Are the sellers paying to fix it? There was water in the basement from lots of rain in the time period between when we signed the purchase agreement for our house and when we actually closed, and the sellers were responsible to fix it. (And they were honest people, so they did the right thing and told the realtor and us about it, and then gave us the warranty information they were given after it was fixed.)

I went home and slept. Now I'm working from home this afternoon. I feel so much better.
I really need to remind myself that going out when I'm kid free does not equal responsibility free. I think this is what happens when you didn't have your twenties to be dumb because you got married and had babies.

I would imagine. The AC worked when we made the offer and when we met the inspector. Like we all commented on how cool the house was because it was blazing hot outside and the house is old. The realtor said the sellers included the cost of a new thermostat in the money they are giving us at closing. Which that money is another one of the issues we have with the realtor since he low balled the estimated cost of repairs and I think set that expectation for the sellers when in reality it was 3x the cost (15k total). We met in the middle on a number, so we aren't going to get any more money out of these guys.
We're suckers and fell in love way too hard with this house. It's going to be worth it because the house and property are amazing, but they are all lucky we're suckers.
erinshelley21, I can comisserate. Prior owners of our house SWORE that they never hooked up the water line to the fridge because they didn't use ice because they're European (for some reason, this seemed totally reasonable at the time).. and the hall bath toilet was turned off because they turn all the toilets off when they go on vacation and just forgot to turn that one back on since they don't use it.. Also that they never had any moisture issues under the house and the items noted in the inspection were from 20+ years before they owned the house. Shocker, but they lied.
She made the team!!!!! However, in our 3 person carpool, the girl who always took at 5:30 AM, did not. Ugh. We all lived about 15-20 minutes from school. Now us and the other parents will have to take turns taking and picking up. Looks like I am going to walk at 6 AM on my mornings and go into work looking pretty rough. No running due to lack of a shower and I sweat, a lot. No way to get ready in the bathroom at work after that.
supertrooper1, I agree we have had a very mild summer. I think summer hit us back in late May early June with that week of 100s and now we are stuck being comfy 70s-80s. It rained last night enough to fill my rain chain pond bucket again. We hardly ever get rain in July.
