Dinner I Wish I Could’ve Attended

Padma Lakshmi: There are meals in your life you will never forget. Meals you will tell your grandkids about. Last night was one of them. I had dinner with someone I’ve admired for a long long time.* And she did not disappoint. Witty and whip smart, she had a twinkle in her eye the whole night.

I think December - definitely late fall at least.

I’m hoping they do a season in philly someday, it the rumor is their hands are kind of tied due to union contracts with the city.

A friend of mine saw Anthony Bourdain when he was out and about in her hometown. They were at a public restaurant that was a semi-closed event or some such (I know I'm getting the back story wrong, but it's close.) They ended up talking. His manager was setting up a private dinner and thought my friend was someone AB knew based on what he saw in the interactions, and so she was able to go into the dinner with the group (she's an avid foodie.) They ended up talking and having an outstanding time (along with one of his cohorts and several dozen others.) She ended up getting the meal and an autographed book and an amazing memory. I've long wished I was her +1 that night.

A good friend & I were semi-obsessed with ABourdain WOT?* Like we’ve seen most of his shows more than once; felt like if a chance meeting ever happened (HA!), we would’ve gotten along absolutely splendidly! We sent/ send each other Bourdain quotes/ clips/ memes if the other’s feeling down.
I’m glad to know our dreams were not too far off, sigh ❤️

I love RBG and Padma. So jealous. I also love Tom Colicchio and the show.
