I think I am going to go to grad school in the the Spring? WTF is wrong with me? It would be really good for me career wise. Only part time for 2 years. I would owe 2 years after I complete my degree at my company.
I like my job. No issues with staying for four more years. Am I insane for wanting to do this with a full time Job and 2 small children at home? I kind of feel like it is now or never. I finally have family help who wants to help nearby and I am not sure how long that will last.
Dear xctsclrx, I googled MBA programs this morning on a whim. Then I realized I can't afford more loans and don't have the time to dedicate to it realistically. If you can get yours paid for and have the support to get through the classes, go for it! You'll always find an excuse for why it doesn't make sense, but it sounds like now is as good a time as any for you. Good luck! Twinmomma
You were on your game last night. Due to a road closure, everyone was getting off at the exit to the high school last night on the way to DDs practice. Cars came to a complete stop before the ramp on the bypass. I slam on my brakes, don't hit anyone and look in my review mirror. The SUV behind me was skidding and was slammed from behind and then 3 more cars slam into them. I see the SUV come at us and think, this is going to hurt, and miraculously, it veers off to the left and misses my car. The only damage my car had were a couple of scratches from car parts flying off of other cars. 1 person taken by ambulance. DD was freaked and obviously late for practice.
Signed Thankful.
Dear volleyball people,
You say kids will be penalized for missing practice, yet you give 1 day notice on a practice change.

xctsclrx, if you feel like you can do it, and have the support/help, go for it! Honestly, I feel like things only get busier once kids get in school and start having regular activities (e.g., sports) plus the occasional school event. We routinely have something almost every weeknight once school starts, and often a game on Saturday. I feel like I would have to go part time to even consider having the time to work on a master's degree.

xctsclrx , my only advice would be to be realistic with how much you can take on/ try to take small bites. I went to grad school while working full time before I had kids and I only took one class at a time, which at this school translated to two classes a semester. Another thing was I didn't pick the most prestigious school. I could have taken on more, but I didn't want to completely lose my already limited free time.
Dear Seattle Trip this weekend I'm dreading you. DH won't help me plan or give me any support and just keeps saying we will figure it out when we are there. I'm trying to count blocks on a google map to see how far things are apart since we are taking the light rail into town from Sea Tac so I can try to make reservations for the Harbor Cruise etc. planner me who is struggling
Dear DD I'm sorry you and your BFF are not meshing right now. I understand the BFF isn't being a good friend or teammate. I saw that last night when she pushed you out of the way to be first in line and to take your turn. You all get the same turns so it isn't a big deal and you did a great job not saying anything. BFF's mom was going to talk to her as she also so this behavior and said it wasn't okay. Hopefully tomorrow will go better. Friendships are hard Mom
twinmomma, Luckily I don't have any loans, (got my undergrad paid for) my company will do 2500 a semester, and if I only take 2 classes at a time it would be about 5,000 so looking at only paying for half with the possibility of more through my company, but I would have to apply for it.
I just reached out the the admin office for a little more info.

Dear director,
You are a good leader and I know you feel I'm a great employee, but when you give all kinds of kudos to a teammate (in the same position and level as I am) for this great work she's doing on integrating another organization (which is all she's doing right now because all her other responsibilities were shifted to other people on the team so she could focus on this project) and how it's going better than past integrations (which I worked on, basically off the side of my desk, part of the time being our absolute busiest time of the year), it pisses me off. If I only worked on integrations, they would have been pretty seamless too. But as it was, I couldn't spend days upon days looking at internal equity and market pricing and comparing the incoming organization to ours, and all the special situations, and build relationships with a lot of leaders during the integration phase, so there were always things that could've gone much better. But I thought I did a damn good job for the work I did with it being on top of all my normal work.

Dear supervisors at work, No, I did not get an email several weeks ago that had updated travel dates and a new location. The last email I received said I was going to Newark at the end of August, so I made custody arrangements for then. And then you tell me yesterday that it's in Philadelphia August 5-9th. That doesn't give me much time to plan. Luckily STBXH is still on summer break and is flexible. But it doesn't help me with my custody battle right now. Signed, Frustrated, but happy it's Philly and not Newark
Dear STBXH, Your attorney is the one that suggested we switch to an app to communicate. So if you're not willing to use the app and claim you're not getting my texts, you can't blame me for not communicating when I did text you back. Signed, Thank goodness for screen shots

xctsclrx, there will never be a "good" time to go to grad school. I would take advantage of the offer from your company.
186momx, don't forget about the hills in Seattle if you plan on walking! I would make your cruise plans and then fit everything in between. Wake up in the morning and give your H two options for activities, i.e. do you want to do Pike Place or the zoo this morning? And then this afternoon do you want to do the underground tour or the Space Needle?
I know you'll be exhausted from camp in the heat today, but please don't embarrass me by fighting with each other and misbehaving at my firm's summer outing this afternoon. If you do, next year I'm leaving you at camp and only bringing the cute 2-year-old (which I already considered for this year
supertrooper1, I forgot about the hills and we do plan on walking a lot. The only two things we need to make reservations for is the cruise and underground tour. I'm thinking I will do them on separate days and schedule for the afternoon so we can have enough time to get there without being rushed. My BFF reminded me to give myself time to just find a bench and chill too.
186momx, we walked so much when we were there at least 10 miles a day and the hills were massive because our hotel at the beginning was right on the water, so we had to go up the hill and back down every time we left the hotel and returned.
