Ladies day at the pool!!!!! As soon as I finish up with the kids well child exams, I am headed with all of my friends to the pool! I am so excited. I have bought some ingredients so somebody can make me a Miami Vice.
Tomorrow we have 2 weddings, but will realistically only make one. It should be fun though.
Sunday hopefully we rest. I've already been to convenient care today trying to ward off a sinus infection.
mommyatty, we also have new school shoes on the list for this weekend. And we need haircuts at some point this weekend or next.
DD's 7th bday party is next Sunday so I need to get on that. We have the venue planned (neighborhood pool/community room at the end of our street) but still need cake, food, favors...etc. Ugh. Luckily we've done this exact location and party with different themes every year for the past few years, so that makes it easier.
Tonight we have a date night and are going to dinner with friends. Otherwise no required plans. Beach, pool, and my ladies tennis lesson Sunday afternoon. Maybe we'll have our friends over to swim and have dinner Saturday evening.

Well my H got a vasectomy today so that’s a celebrate good times moment. He’ll relax this weekend, DD2 is having her turn at the grandparents (DD1 has hers a couple weeks ago) and tomorrow 1 and I will join my best friend and her daughter for our annual “binders then burritos” school shopping marathon. She definitely needs new shoes, a couple of new outfits and the usual supplies.
Sunday no plans. I’m mostly off this upcoming week so we will have a fun staycation before school starts once again.
Also H and I made a monumental decision today at the urologist (they were running two hours behind — we had time). We had talked about moving overseas for a year but the logistics — school, dog, house, etc. Instead we have decided that in 4ish years I will leave my job and we will spend 1-3 summers mostly traveling (depending on how much money I can save and how it goes). We are banking a large chunk of my salary toward this and I’ll even set up a defined account or something. We will have an 8/11 year olds then and we figure the middle school years might be a good time to have a parent more flexible and available, knowing DD1’s personality, anyway
I am all alone!! DH left this morning with the kids for their annual camping trip. The won’t be back until Thursday. My boring plans include deep cleaning the house, possibly painting my office, long walks alone, a spa day, dinner with an old friend, and a book by the pool. Just the right amount of stuff for me.
librarychica, that is an incredible plan! I'm jealous! mae0111, Sounds like perfect balance for alone time. Enjoy!
The girls and I are headed to a "friend family reunion" tomorrow. It happens once or twice a year when a crew of us from college get together with all our families and hang out. We're doing brunch tomorrow at someone's house so I'll make food tonight.
After that, headed up to visit my parents and go to an amusement park with them on Sunday. It finally seems like it won't be oppressively hot so we can go without being miserable all day. I feel like we only have maybe one more summer before they'll outgrow the magic of this amusement park so it's bittersweet. I have so many childhood memories there, but my siblings were a lot younger than me so I went every summer well past the target age range.
As fun as this weekend will be, I'm really looking forward to next week because I have ZERO plans for an entire week! I can't wait to just go home and relax after work. I was out every single night this week.
DS1's birthday is today, so we are taking him to dinner with FIL and my parents. Then we'll head back to the house so he can open presents. Maybe we'll have smores by the fire a little later. Tomorrow is gym, followed by lunch with my friend. Don't know what we'll do in the afternoon. On Sunday, we may head to the science center since DS1 has been begging to go back.
We're counting down the last weekends of summer - only 4 left here! Where did the summer go?
Everyone sounds like they are in a better mood than me. : ( Normally I am in a great mood on Friday's but.....my husband pissed me off first thing this morning. He had just gotten home from work & he starts making all these stupid comments to me b/c I threw away celery that had gone bad & another comment that he doesn't want me wasting smartpocket pitas that I bought. He is so petty at times & I am sick of it. I have been in the worst mood all day, ugh. I know I need to let it go but its hard.
Anyway, I'm planning on taking the kids to my mom's tomorrow for the weekend (without H). Maybe that will improve my mood?!

DD is going to a friend's house this evening for a Descendants movie marathon (Descendants 3 premieres tonight), and DS is going to have a friend over this evening.
DS is playing in a Gus Macker tournament this weekend. It's the first time he's going to play in one, so we'll see what he thinks. I just hope he has fun and doesn't play any teams that play dirty. (ETA: I realized that maybe not everyone has ever heard of the Gus Macker tournament, as it originated in my area. It's a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for all ages (although teams are grouped by age) that is played outside.)
Today is the last day of my staycation. I’m quite good at it. I’ve gotten in a daily workout and the house is super organized. I didn’t get to any of the closets unfortunately, but the toys have been culled and the garage is in good shape. I’d have done more, but I had a couple books that desperately needed reading.
In-laws are coming to visit tomorrow. I am... not looking forward to it. Apparently DH thought I was joking when he asked “when’s a good time for my parents to come” and I answered “never.”
Monday we leave for our family beach vacation.. forecast calls for a whopping high of 68 the week we’re there. I have a sitter lined up for Tuesday night for a date, and Thursday so we can go wine tasting.
Oh, and a DDOT: we still have birds living in our chimney. It’s been a damned month. I’m pretty sure a second nest was created before the first fledged. I am.. so over it.

We will see if we manage it! We either will, or will have a nice savings account.
My girls are 7 and obsessed. It's a live action Disney movie series. The premise is that it's the kids of all the Disney characters in high school and villain kids and hero kids have to learn to get along.
Very low key weekend here. Saturday was DD dentist carnival which was a lot of fun. Then we went to Jerry home improvement big anniversary sale. This sale is bigger than black Friday. Sunday DD is hanging with my brother for most of the day 😎

my DD1 is 6 and has been into descendants for last few years (I also love it so we've read the books together and watched all the movies)
