My H is taking 1-1.5 weeks off of work. It's just Day 3 and Day 4 for 10 hours each I'll need to find some help. I kind of feel like those will maybe be the worst 2 days. My mom will likely help.
You know your kids. I have an 8 and 6 year old. For 2 days, they’d be just fine if we just had a couple hours of help (or them just going to a friend’s house to play for a few hours). They make their own breakfast, can get their own lunch, and play together well. Of course, I don’t have a 4 year old, but your 10 year old may be able to manage everything for the 4 year old for a couple of days. The house may be a mess when your H returns, though!
Is your 4 year old staying at your mom’s an option for that weekend?
lilac05 my 4 year old is really the only one I need to worry about. He can be very difficult. I don’t even want to ask someone to take him to their house bc he can be challenging. itsme She is 70, he can be tiring for her. I think her coming to the house and filling in the gaps when H isn’t there will work out.
So Doctor 1’s office just called to check in, and I told them the situation. They are going to talk price reduction and call me back.
Despite seeing the work in person, I still feel like 1 had even more impressive B/A photos but Doctor 3’s were still great.

I worked at a plastics office doing billing/coding. I have had a breast aug and lipo. Never had the tummy tuck, but i know lots of people who did. The aug i took off one week and was fine. Hardly any pain. The lipo burns inside for awhile and you have to wear the binder. Tummy tucks, usually people took off 2 weeks from work. Wear binder for a least a month. It is painful i have heard, but just takes time to heal.

This was the situation I ran into. I ultimately chose who's work I liked better even though I didn't know anyone personally who had the work done like I did with the other doctor.
I wanted to add, I had the Exparel shot last year after my 4th breast aug, it did not work and I was miserable. That being said. I’m getting a TT this and will be requesting it again. 300 and the chance that the pain will be minimal is worth it
On the one hand, having a personal recommendation is really compelling for #3. On the other hand, I wouldn't let a few thousand dollars sway me one way or another in such a major procedure, so I don't think the cost and financing alone should sway you from #1 if he is otherwise your top choice.
No judgement here! I am definitely getting my boobs done after #2. We'll evaluate the tummy when the time comes. I'm also interested in vaginal rejuvenation, to be perfectly honest.
Our friends down in D-bury live next door to a plastic surgeon. Her #1 performed procedure is vaginal rejuvenation. I had no idea so many people even knew what that was to even have it done.
I would probably go with #1. You have seen his work, you felt like he listened to you, and is well respected.
If I'm going to get work done to look and feel better about myself, a few thousand dollars would be worth it.
My best friend had a tummy tuck as did my next door neighbor. They both were miserable for a few days so I would make sure you have some help at home post op.
My good friend had a similar surgery last year - a repare to diastasis recti, tummy tuck, and lipo (back and thighs). Definitely have as much help as you can get - she definitely struggled the first week of so and absolutely couldn’t take care of her kids at first. She’s glad she did it (and was in a similar situation where she had planned on doing it later but a spot opened up and it was all of a sudden in a few weeks) but definitely needed a village supporting her the first few weeks.
Do you happen to know how long her recovery was overall? At my last pp appointment my OB said I was likely going to need a diastis recti repair
I could be wrong but I think I remember CloudBee having this.

I know one person IRL who did it 5 years ago.
I knew it was getting more popular, but the MOST popular is surprising to me, too. Might ask you for her name in a couple years!

namasteak I just had a DIEP procedure (mastectomy and immediate reconstruction with belly fat, so it's basically a really hideous tummy tuck with giant blobs of fat for boobs. I look like Spongebob and Frankenstein had a baby.) and the surgeon found a giant diastasis recti that I didn't even know I had. The recovery from this surgery has been a nightmare, but the DR part has not hurt at all. There's more swelling as a result, but that's really it. So my not-at-all-relatable anecdotal evidence suggests that you'll need 2 weeks and a belly binder, but that the pain won't be terrible.

sugarbear I’ve been thinking about you. Hope your healing process goes smoothly.
namasteak and ohgillian the diastis recti repair occurs in most tummy tucks, I think it’s rare for no muscle repair to occur. I could be wrong. I need it. Doctor 1 said I have a hernia too. Who knew! Doctors 1 and 3 use long term dissolvable stitches. Number 2 uses permanent. The muscles would heal around 3 months and the stitches would dissolve in 6.

Thanks! I think the worst is over, but holy cow those were dark days. The general discomfort was truly unbearable at times, and I thought I was a pretty rough cookie (tha pain wasn’t terrible.). But, I can stand upright and nothing hurts anymore! I have phase 2 in October, but that’s likely going to be fairly tame in comparison (scar revision and fat grafting). Thanks for thinking of me!

I am glad you are feeling better and I’m sorry the TT didn’t turn out the way you wanted. I hope the second phase has a much easier recovery!
What do you mean by the pain wasn’t bad but the discomfort was unbearable?
I didn’t read all the responses, but if the 6 month financing is concerning you could look at care credit. I did this for my lasik and has 18 month no interest financing.
We were looking at care credit and unfortunate Doctor 1 only participated in the 6 month plan. If he did the 18 month I’d be sold! Our goal is tot pay no interest in this no matter what.

You should be able to put this on a current credit card and then immediately (before the cycle closes) do a transfer to a cc that has an "18 month no interest for balance transfers" offer.
If you do that, I personally like the Citi Double Cash anyway and use it as my primary card; it has no annual fee, gives 2% cashback as long as you pay your bill in full on-time, and has no interest for 18 months on balances you transfer to the card.

I’m sorry:( My friend had a rough go too. What do you mean hideous tummy tuck? She had a horizontal ‘wound’ that they sealed with glue, it looked great, though.
Well I am only 5 weeks out so I’m assuming it will get better. But I do have the hip-to-hip scar which doesn’t bother me. It’s more that my PS basically uses the first surgery to harvest blood vessels and tissue in order to recreate breasts. She is excellent and I’ve had no complications— my new boobs look pretty good. But I’ve lost my waist completely and while my stomach is flatter, it’s not really smaller. I might still be swollen? It’s honestly hard to tell if it’s swelling or just... me. I do go in for another round, and I gather that I’ll get more of a shape back then... but at the moment I look ... square. LOL.

Thanks I have a lot of burning, stretching, and pulling under the skin. It’s just really uncomfortable. And since the nerves on my breast pockets have been severed, I can’t feel them... but not really because when fabric touches my boobs, they feel like they are on fire. It’s slowly going away.

if I recall correctly she was only really hurting/unable to do much for 2 weeks which isn’t bad. She wasn’t back to full functionality (like being able to exercise etc) for a long time - a few months.
This was my experience. I stayed at my parents' house the first 5 days and they took care of my while my husband took care of the kids. I went back to work at a desk job day 11. But couldn't lift my two year old for 6 weeks. It really is a full 12 weeks for a full recovery, but after the first 2-3 weeks I could participate carefully in caring for the kids.

Thankfully I had a mild DI which didn't require surgery. My cousin is a plastic surgeon so we talked it over, and then she examined me. A few months of barre class and things improved quite a bit.
She DID say that the surgery and recovery were a big flipping deal.

This is so, so helpful. I checked on that first one and the balance transfer fee is pretty high. I'm checking into the others on the list now. ohgillian thank you!!
Doctor 1 went down in price and can get me in, in a few weeks. Doctor 3 went up almost $500 for the pain injection. Doctor 1 is literally within walking distance from my work which will come in handy for all my post op apps. Doctor 3 is about 45-50 mins away and I will have no sick time left for those appointments.

Oh sorry. I haven't actually done a balance transfer before.
Update: Dr 3 went up with the request for exparel and Dr 1 went down. The difference is now 4600.
I’m going with 1 and my surgery is 9/10 now instead of waiting till April. Whether I’m putting a certain amount of money away each month for savings or making payments with no financing...it’s all the same to me. Might as well do it when it’s easier to miss work.
Dr 1 is also very close and Dr 3 is 50 mins away so this will also make post op appointments easier. H is taking a week off work.
