Sometimes I see people wearing them and think they are adorable. Sometimes I see people wearing them and think "why did she pick something that is that unflattering/ridiculous looking?" So, I think it depends on the romper. Styles vary a lot.
I would never in a million years wear one myself, but that's mostly because my body shape is not right for one.

I didn't think mine was either, but I tried one on for fun about a year ago and it actually looked really cute. So ever since I've considered it.
I like them but I haven't bought any because I don't want to fully undress to use the bathroom. I love them for others though, if they're willing to put up with the inconvenience.
I am wearing a jumpsuit to a wedding tomorrow, so I am in the yay camp. But, finding a good jumpsuit or romper is the trick. 95% of jumpsuits just don't fit me very well - the legs are too short, or it gives weird cameltoe or saggy butt. But when you find one that sings....its amazing.
It is a lot of trial and error though.
I would link to my jumpsuit, but it was a miracle find. On top of being amazingly flattering, it was on clearance at Macy's for $30. It is Calvin Klein brand, so maybe check them out?
I have several. I live in the tropics so I have a lot of shorts ones. Naked to pee is annoying but they tend to have thin/no straps so it's not that hard ot pull them up or down.
I also have a couple of trousers ones which are more dressy and I like them!
Like sweater dresses my feeling is that you kind of have to have the magic cut one, OR the magic proportional body for one. I have neither, so I can't do either.

I look super cute in a romper (but hey, I also like like I'm 12, so that probably helps, and the romper just makes me look younger...) But in general I do think they are a silly concept. So flattering on some people, though. I say yay.

I wore one to a bachelorette party that started at noon and went late-night. It was the perfect, "What the hell do I wear to something like this?" outfit. Bathroom was totally fine, because I got one that didn't have a tie/zipper, and I was three sheets to the wind, so who cares about sitting here in a nasty bar bathroom in my bra!
Prior to the moment in the dressing room where I tried it on, I was terribly anti-jumper/romper, but that thing won me over. I felt like I was buying a thneed. It became the thing, the thing that everyone needs.

I was totally anti. Then I bought a maternity one that was AMAZING. So I went on the hunt for something similarly cute and comfortable.
I found this one, and I get tons of compliments. I’m not a tall lean woman, and this one is perfection for curves. It comes in regular, petite, and plus. There are articles raving about it. Super easy to get on and off, so don’t stress about that. And pockets!!

I thought I was ill-suited for the jumpsuit trend until I found a Calvin Klein jumpsuit at Marshals for $39. It's so amazing I bought it even though I have nowhere to actually wear it at the moment. It's the one brand that works for me (their dresses fit well too as). I do have to get it hemmed but no big deal.

I'm only a nay because of the peeing issue. Otherwise I think all body types can rock the right one and they're the perfect solution to "I should wear a dress but it's swampy out and I don't want to chafe." I wish I were brave enough to buy one. Maybe for fall.

Not sure I’ve seen a grown up successfully wear a romper.
I love jumpsuits - I’m tall and I wear a bright coral belted one on occasion and I get tons of compliments from men and women. If I were running for potus I’d strut onto the debate stage wearing it.
I'm not interested for both practical and aesthetic reasons, but I also don't spend much time thinking about what other people wear. If you want one, get one!
