Tips for Key West?

We're taking a short cruise in October that docks in Key West from 8-5. What's your favorite thing to do?

We’ve been there twice and love just walking around looking at all the little shops, the architecture, the museums, getting chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick, etc. Last time, we found ourselves too tired to walk back to the port and got a Lyft.

I did a catamaran sunset snorkeling trip that was super fun. I'm a big history geek so I also toured Ernest Hemingway's house and really enjoyed it.

We found a brochure at our hotel that had a self guided walking tour so we spent a few hours doing that.

Other than that, go have some drinks at Hog's Breath, Capt Tony's and Sloppy Joe's. We also love the Green Parrot.

My sister goes to KW a few times a year and her fave restaurant is Blue Heaven.

Eat at the original Margaritaville for the kitsch factor and leave with a To Go cup 'o booze to sip while wandering the city.

You can walk between Mile Marker 0, Hemingway House and 90 miles to Cuba bouy pretty easily.

If you're in the mood to be active, a guided bicycle tour is a great way to see the old part of the island and get some cool info on the history of the island. If you want to be less active, you can rent these little electric cars and drive around to see different things. Key West is one of our FAV places in the world b/c mostly we are super content to casually bar hop now that we've done and seen most of the touristy things.
