You often see them at gyms, bar studios, and in PT offices.
DS's physical therapist suggest we consider ordering a set. We also live in a colder climate, so it would actually be great to have something he could climb on inside during the winter months. We would likely mount them in his bedroom. We already have 2 sets of mats.
Sports & PT equipment websites sell them for $400-1,000. Amazon has a few sets in the $250-400 range.
If you have stall bars in your home, how easy were they to mount? Where did you order from?
Just curious, would something like climbing wall rocks be useful? I ask because that seems like it could be more engaging/challenging. In fairness, I don't know anything about stall bars.
My dad put up those climbing wall “rock” holds in his basement. It took a while but wasn’t necessarily difficult. He put up wood boards first - so they went into the studs. The holds bolted into the wood. My kids mostly go across instead of up since the ceiling gets in the way so if you go this route you’d need a long-ish wall to make it worth it.
We don't have those, but my twins are obsessed with Amreican Ninja Warrior and can be found climbing doorways and are constantly climbing up and down their bunk bed ladder, and up the outside of the stairs railing if that makes sense. They climb them from side facing the hallway, holding onto the bars as the climb up so their bellies are facing the stairs.
If its something necessary for PT, I would consider them. But they seem pretty pricey for something a kid may do a few times and then get bored with. Or decide to climb other things. See my above paragraph
We have a three track ladder that we got from hearth song for about $90. It’s meant to hang from a tree but we hung ours on a wall. Maybe that would work?

Never seen that. Have you considered a doorway chin-up bar? Very different obviously but it has been great for my kid!! She just often hangs and swings but gets energy out and may help with muscles a bit too.
We actually bought one of those for him a few yrs ago. Really fun!

He does a rock wall in PT, actually. But with the stall bars he can hang and repeatedly pull himself up. It's just constantly engaging muscles he needs to work on.
I wish we had a finished basement. Putting something like this up in his small bedroom will be a big decision if we move forward.
We don’t have this but was thinking of getting DS a Montessori Piklers Triangle for at home. Thought it would be something he could climb during the winter and can be used for other types of play activity. Is it a bit pricy though but maybe worth looking into?

ETA - similar to what @macmars45 posted!
We got one for our twins for their second birthday and I can't recommend it enough. We use it all the time, for climbing and as a base for fort building, etc. My recommendation is go bigger if your LO is a capable climber. We got the biggest size (the seller said it was for ages 4+ I think) and it's definitely the right size for them.

Thank you! This is good to know, I think we are leaning towards getting it. DS loves to climb stuff and we live in Canada so our winters are brutal and long. Was thinking this would be a good way to tire him out haha. I was trying to decide between sizes, we live in a small semi in the city but I think we will get the larger one. Maybe I will get rid of some of his other toys he doesnt play with as much to make room for it.
