Planned Parenthood has opened a "mega" facility in Illinois, close to the MO border as well as AR and KY. It's 18,000 s.f. and poised to service up to 11,000 women in a year.

Illinois really did the Midwest a solid when it passed the Reproductive Health Act. I'm glad to see we can be there for those who lack care and choice in neighboring states. I hope more facilities can go in along borders to ease the burden that travel creates.

WA has a PP in Spokane that services Eastern Washington, north ID and likely the westernmost parts of MT and outlying areas. I'm proud that WA is also looking to helping service other areas (We're actually PP of the NW, AK and HI.) The protestors in Spokane have gotten extremely aggressive over time. They have formed a "Church of Planned Parenthood" where they protest, pray (loudly), play loud music (loudly), preach (over loudspeakers). Some of the pastors have even traveled across state lines to protest at other locations. They've since expanded and are doing the same at our clinic here in Everett (and again are extremely aggressive and not always following the law where noise and panhandling, etc. apply and we've even had one of the pastors prohibited from appearing due to injunctions and an arrest in another state) and are looking to push nationally. They have a website I don't want to link here but if you want to get an idea of how these people are... it's Church at Planned Parenthood
