We have drywall! It's amazing how much smaller the rooms are now. I think the drywallers did a shitty installation job, but our contractor says they do good work, so apparently my standards are too high.
I managed to get my paint colors all figured out: Bathroom - sea salt Bedroom - oyster bay Bonus room - agreeable gray Laundry - quietude Hallway - harbor gray (to match existing house) Funnily, my dad, H and the contractor (who "doesn't do colors") were all like, "why cant you just do one color?". Then I got made fun of for my poster board samples. Men! The painter was obviously on my side. He even said "sea salt is the perfect bathroom color" and they were all surprised. I know I'm doing people! I may ask how much more it is to paint our kitchen as well.
Next week we get gutters. Not sure what else. Ready for concrete but now there is lots of rain in the forecast. Cabinets are ordered. I should probably buy our lights and plumbing fixtures soon too. Floors are ordered...they were on sale so we saved $400!
I agree with you about the paint. I think it's perfectly fine if you want to do everything all one color, but I much prefer for each room to have it's own personality, including it's own paint color.

There were big gaps in some seams from unstraight cuts, not particularly level with the existing drywall and damaged sections from where they cut for an outlet for example. It seems to look ok now that it has mud, but even then it appears they rely solely on texture to make it look good in the end. It just feels kind of haphazard I guess. I was going to whine to our contractor but he had been by every day and I trust his opinion, so it must just be how the pros do it. Not how I would but I admit it would take a hell of a lot longer.

You sound like my husband! He's a major perfectionist. He seems to take forever to do anything, but I'll admit, it does look perfect when he's done.
We had to fix the kitchen ceiling after a plumbing issue in the bathroom upstairs. He repaired the ceiling, even painted it, but wasn't happy, so did it all over again.
I’m still impressed you are doing this with a newborn! It’s looking so good !
It's annoying having people coming and going all the time (mostly because my dog is so stressed out), but it really hasn't been TOO bad. Some days are kind of loud but generally tolerable. I did just lose the plywood between the old and new and now have a zipper wall, so the noise will get louder.
But I am SO glad we didnt do improvements to the existing house now. We are gonna try and do some DIY over the next year or two, but phase 2 is a kitchen relocate. So that will be fun...
I wish I would have picked more colors when we had our house painted so you’re right to do it now! Our builder charged for each color change and then made recommendations about what he liked which was an orangey grey. The painter told us that our color choices were awesome and complimentary so he must have gotten sick of painting the orangey grey all the time.

It didn't occur to me that it might cost more for color changes. Maybe that's why the painter liked my choices!
It's both a blessing and a curse that we dont see what any one individual item costs. I saw our cabinets and about died, but know they're all lumped in to one big sum to our contractor.
