We're looking for a new dining room chandelier and would love some suggestions. Here are some photos of the space. Ignore the big blank wall - we're waiting on a large painting for that wall. The table has two leaves that are not currently in it. Also including a photo of the chandelier both H and I like, but I'm wondering if it's too rustic. ETA: We tend to like things a little more simple and modern.
My chief complaint about the one you have is that it looks wider than the table, so with that in mind I might look for something rectangular/linear.
I'm bad for advice on this though. We hated the chandelier that was in our house when we bough it. I spray painted it, took off the awful globes, and 11 years later it is still here. Oops.

Yeah, it's just a few inches smaller than the width of the table. We're definitely looking for something that isn't as big. Or at least as wide.
We've had this chandelier for 18 years. I think we've talked about replacing it for the past 10 But we've made some big changes to the other furniture so I think we'll finally bit the bullet.
I love the one that you posted, I have a similar one in my kitchen. That said, I agree with Susie that something linear would work great, I think the one that you posted would get completely lost when you put in the table leafs.
You have sooo many options. Go to ylighting.com and search “linear” and filter by your price point. I think this is the perfect area for a statement light. I would go with a linear light vs round due to the size and shape of the room and the rectangular table. I don’t think you’d regret a bold choice here.
We have the surge over our dining room table and it’s still my favorite light in the universe.
I think you may like these based on the room and the other fixture. The other fixture is just the wrong shape I think.
Most of these are on the pricey end but there are more affordable options too.

It took 3 years to find the right chandelier, so I feel you. I went with this one from Hubbardton Forge I added small lampshades. I love it, and if we ever move, I am taking with us! Although it is simple, it is not modern.
