My husband has several very important meetings out of town and desperately needs new clothes and, honestly, help getting some. I know people here have recommended Nordstrom’s styling service but we don’t have one.
Of course he waited until last minute.
Do we A) head to the outlets as a family and I help him? B) Bloomingdales personal shopper C) Macy’s personal shopper
He needs help. He needs to project “successful business owner” not “programmer who works from home.”
Do you have banana republic nearby? That was DH’s go to for work attire when he needed to dress up. They don’t have personal shoppers, but they do have sales folks that will step in and help.

If we go to the outlets, we have an outlet one. I’d forgotten about them. The work clothes I got there didn’t really hold up.

FWIW, BR outlet is not the same quality as the regular store. I would skip the outlet if that’s your option.
I would probably do Bloomingdales Personal shopper. Call ahead and make an appointment. Give them your budget and suggest they check sales since they can be pricey.
And then do a quick say 1 hour circle of the outlets top 2 stores to fill in for other random stuff he might need.
Men’s Wearhouse. They will tell him what suits or sport coats go with what pants and shirts etc. They do a really good job.
I’d forgotten about them! Which is weird because a friend of mine was a buyer for them for several years after college.
This afternoon I am sending him to Men’s Warehouse for suits while the girls and I do our thing at nearby stores (one needs new shoes and PJs and they both need dresses that fit for a wedding in a couple weeks — the big just had a crazy growth spurt) and then we will grab him and I’ll see if I can help him find a couple of casual outfits for after work social events and FFS some decent shoes. If we can’t do this quickly and with minimal fuss, it’s off to a personal shopper tomorrow. He his hesitant there. He’s gained some weight and I think he is self conscious.
