Dear colleagues, If you are going to start working a new business line and would like to actually get business for it, could you tell me? I'm in charge of marketing. It's kind of important for us to know what services our company offers so that I can, you know, market them. If no one tells me, I can't put it on the website. Which means when you send customers to the site, it looks like we don't offer the service you just tried to sell them on. Not a good look. Signed, Isn't this obvious?
Dear DD2, Your recess "date" is the cutest thing I've ever heard. Holding hands and "discussing things we've done recently" is adorable. You're 7. What do you discuss? Signed, Momma PS - I love that you asked him on a date. You go girl!
Dear WP, My 7 year old is going on dates. It's adorable, but also freaks me out!!! Signed, Not ready for this

Dear WPs,
DH is coaching a rec basketball team for DS. DH just got the practice and game schedule and all of the games are at 8:00 am on Saturdays, and they are at the middle school that is a minimum 20 minutes from our house, but we'll have to leave around 7:15 am so DH can be the first one there and also for warm-up time. I guess maybe the upside is that we still have the whole rest of the day to do things?
Signed, Mom who is feeling pre-tired about the whole thing
Vent: I have toilet water dripping from my work ceiling! My chair is all wet but luckily it missed any files. I don't need my day starting off like this. Me
Dear PTO Yes I said I would be on the board. But I'm the only full time working mom so when I say Friday's work best as I have them off. Don't say how about 9am tomorrow. At least I got it moved to 3pm today so I don't have to flex my work day too much other than skipping lunch. What did I get myself into? me

Dear DS, I'm sorry you're sick. At least I was able to stay home with you and can now work from home so I'm not missing a day. But did you have to pick a day when my supervisor would be calling for my year end review? I just hope you can be quiet while I'm on the phone. Love, Mom who doesn't need a WFH violation on her first day of WFH.
Dear computer docking station, You suck. Why can't you work 2 monitors at the same time? Signed, Not tech savvy
Dear DH, Thank you for the special text even though you are traveling. I feel appreciated and acknowledged. Love, Birthday Girl
Dear Parents, You are adorable for stopping by while I was at work yesterday and leaving flowers and a birthday card. The kids were very impressed. Love, Daughter
Dear Eye Doctor, It was totally cool that you had to dart out of the room during my eye exam this morning because the woman in the next room was having a seizure. If you need to call 911, it is okay to run out of my room, you don't need to apologize profusely. Also, thank you for rechecking the pressure with the better instrument, for some reason the little hand held ones always give high readings on me. Signed, Happy Patient
So if the receptionist leaves, we have no travel protocol for people who need to turn in travel? Especially since they already turned it in once. That's efficient. Currently, I have school principals breathing down my neck about an issue I have been begging them to look at for a year, kids possibly needing lung transplants that we somehow have to interview, kids freaking out about suicide at a school. This travel bs is not really on my list of things to worry about.
Signed, I have real work issues.
Dear DD,
I really, really hope this homecoming thing goes well. You are just going to go have fun without a group or date to go in with. We have the dress and the shoes, and you won't let me make a hair appointment. I admire you for just going, but I am super nervous and want you to have an amazing time.
Dear Donut Client Thanks for bringing me a mocha when you picked up payroll. I really needed the pick me up. Also thanks for the giant box of donuts to go with my coffee. Me
DD I'm so sad that I missed you getting a new skill last night because I was at the PTO meeting. I feel rotten but can't wait for Thursday so I can see it. Mom
Gym Mom's Thanks for all the happy congrats on Facebook/messenger today about DD getting her final skill on the beam. It means a bunch especially since DD doesn't feel super included in the group since she isn't competing. Fellow Gym mom

186momx, it went well, thanks for asking. DS was perfectly quiet with the help of his tablet. The downside to my review going well is that she is assigning me more work. Within minutes of getting off the phone, I had a new client,.
supertrooper1, 186momx, mae0111, Thank you for the birthday wishes! I have to work tonight, but it is a good networking thing, so I don't mind too much. I also had cupcakes with the kids for breakfast to celebrate.

Run. Just run.
As someone who just finally escaped the clutches of the PTA board, I second this. Run away. They will literally never understand why your job conflicts with school events and how your availability works.
