I’ve had fairly severe pain since yesterday morning. It’s in my lower abdomen. I’m having normal bowel movements. When I have a full bladder or need to pass gas the pain is worse. I’m pretty sure it’s Diverticulitis. I had it last February and had a colonoscopy last summer that confirmed Diverticulosis. Last year when I went to my MD and she diagnosed me based on my symptoms and elevated white blood count, but never gave me any meds or antibiotics. I need to see a doctor, I’m in a lot of pain. My H thinks they’ll be able to do more for me at Urgent Care. Where would you go? Urgent Care or Family doctor?
I can’t remember if it was you, I think it was. With an enlarged uterus you can experience pain in your bladder when you pee. For me it’s like a sharp shooting pain. Although it doesn’t happen all of the time, usually when I’m on my period.

I would call your doctor first and ask them if they think you should come to them or go to urgent care.
ETA: my grandma recently went to her doctor for diverticulitis and he sent her straight to the ER. However, that may be because she's an older patient as well.

I am glad you are going to the hospital. This happened to me last year. I started at the urgent care associated with my doctor's office, because they had no appointments available. The urgent care doc, sent me to the ER. It turned out to be an ovarian cyst, but because of where the pain was (lower right quadrant) they wanted to do scans to ensure it wasn't my appendix. Can't do that at a doctor's office.
Thanks guys. My doctor was concerned about appendicitis. I’m waiting for a CT Scan. Luckily they’ve given me some morphine for the pain. My blood work came back with elevated white blood count and my liver numbers are elevated, basically, the doctor doesn’t know what is going on. Hopefully the Scan answers.
I came to the ER and the CT Scan showed Diverticulitis. It’s very, very inflamed. They admitted me and I’m getting iv pain meds and antibiotics and nausea medicine. My bloodwork showed elevated white blood count as well as elevated liver enzymes. My follow up blood work today showed my liver numbers still going up. So, I’m here for at least one more night. I’ve been upgraded to clear liquids, so at least that’s something good.
