It's a week until November . . . so who's on board for NaNoWriMo this year?
I'm planning to write a book about 15th century female assassins who live and train in a convent. But that's about as far as I've gotten so far. No idea on story arc, characters, plot, ANYTHING. It feels a little crazy, but I love NaNo so I'm gonna give it a shot.
I somewhat impulsively signed up again yesterday afternoon. I'll be pantsing this one and it's been years since I last attempted NaNo, so wish me luck!
Hey! I started outlining and character development in September. I'm still a bit sketchy on one character (and that character's wife and supporting characters in that story line/location), but it will come together. I knocked out 2500 words last night. I have an event to go to today, but I'm crossing my fingers that with some time here and there today (which I'm wasting by GBCNing, lol) and a lot of time tomorrow, plus a supportive husband who is doing most of the house work (baby, we need the fridge cleaned out!) I can hit 10k words by Sunday night. I also didn't exactly clear my schedule for the rest of the month...
I just talked about this over on CEP, but my novel is about infertility, female friendships, aging, and the meaning of family. No title yet, though.
I never officially sign up, but my writing group is doing it and doing check-ins together.
On Friday I wrote almost 600 words on an existing project that I've been working on for like 5 years (it's about 17,000 words right now). On Saturday I started using the book Story Genius to plot out a new project that I thought up at the beginning of the year and shelved (about Earth as a prison planet), and I wrote 2040 words doing the first 3 exercises about my what if, who, and why. I had a chance to workshop my first page when I first thought up the idea and everyone loved my main character, but I didn't know where anything was going (and neither did she!) and the book has been really helpful in that regard.
I also know I very likely won't hit 50,000 words. We're hosting family for too many days which makes it difficult to write, and I'm having surgery on my dominant wrist in about two weeks and probably won't be able to write for a while, so mostly I just want to solidify my writing habits, and flesh out my new project.

I wrote 5000 words this weekend, but I doubt I'll finish. I didn't officially sign-up and I don't think I can really ever share my writing b/c it's a memoir-style that is more stream-of-consciousness based on my last crazy year.
