Now the former regional manager of that Starbucks location is suing the company for allegedly discriminating against white people. In her suit, Shannon Phillips, who is white, claims she was discriminated against by Starbucks after being terminated from her regional manager position less than one month after the two men were arrested inside the store, located at 18th and Spruce streets.
Isn't she just precious? Her lawyer is going to have his/her ass handed to him/her. These cases are taken on contingency, and the firm generally pays expenses until settlement or verdict. They don't win and they generally end up eating the costs and expenses. That's why *good* attorneys won't take cases they can't settle or win. This is a case that Sbux won't settle. They have the money and resources to defend and defend they most likely will, so they don't set a precedent. And unless something pops up in discovery/litigation, she is going to lose bigly at trial. Damn, I wish I was on this Sbux trial team, because this is going to be fun.
Happy litigating, Shannon (because of course it's a Shannon.)

I am pretty sure Caucasian doesn't fall into the "protected" category. Fuck this bitch but am so glad we know her name and face. Gotta love social media for that.

Anyone can be protected, even white/Caucasian people.
That said, anyone can also be fired for violating company policies and poorly representing the company. She would need some pretty strong evidence that SBX has a pattern of practice in terminating white people for discriminating against customers at disproportionate rates compared to terminating nonwhites for the same action.
