Child access to social media is the molded jello salad of our time
It feels modern and ubiquitous. We know it's inane and unhealthy but somehow feel it is also central. Our schools think the kids will need it for there future just like a 1950s home ec teacher would think a jello salad was central to modern and efficient entertaining.
In 50 years people will think it's strange, gross and something to avoid whenever possible.

Our pediatrician just told us last month that her 18 year old just got his first social media account, and it was against her wishes. She thinks that it is the most troubling issue she faces in her practice, and encourages all parents to keep their kids away from it for as long as we possibly can.
