If these items are likely to be recalled, I understand amazon and ebay and other retailers pulling them. I’m unsure that it’s amazon making a decision on what is safe. It’s not the way I’m looking at it. I think they’re just being cautious. I, like many others, used a rock and play for my daughter to sleep in as a newborn and then to hang out in when she was a bit bigger. I do cringe when I see people selling them on local groups etc because they’ve been recalled.

Agree with that. If you're going to keep it and use it that's your own decision, but I would not sell on a BST page. I ended up returning mine to BBB for a store credit.

Agree. I returned mine to FP for a credit and then found out I was pregnant and got a bouncy seat thing with my credit.
I've actually been trying to figure out what to do with my RNP now. I used it with DS in the kitchen despite the recall, so he could hang out awake and supervised with us while we cooked/ate dinner. He has outgrown that use, so now what? It's old, and I don't want any of the things FP would give me if I return the cross piece. I wanted to offer it up for the purpose of sending it in and picking from the options but... I don't know how to accomplish that and manage risk/liability. You can cut the straps on an expired car seat and offer it up for use in a trade-in event, but there's not a good analog here. I'll probably just end up trashing it.

I would send it to Fisher Price yourself. It's not hard and they pay shipping so you don't lose anything. Just go on the website, request a mailer, pull off the piece they want you to return and drop it off at the post office (USPS even does free pick up). Then they'll send you an email with your options and you can pick something out to donate to a women's shelter or something.

At my retailer, we have a VP of Compliance who would ultimately decide issues like this. They probably just aren't comfortable with potential risk and managing recalls. We decided not to carry CBD products at my work for the same reasons. It's not a judgment on the products, just risk tolerance.
I was also wondering what to do with ours. We used it while awake but now it's way outgrown. My mom says I shouldn't try to resell it in like a garage sale or anything because I could be held liable (although I don't know how it could be proved?).

I wouldn’t feel right knowingly selling a recalled product.
Susie you could also just give away the crossbars if you didn’t feel like doing the legwork of returning to FP.

I know. She made a good point and I've decided against it. I was just wondering what to do. I don't like any of the options FP has to offer in exchange.

I returned mine before they gave the options (or made it public that there were going to be options and not a credit as it was first implied). None of the options were worthwhile or usable for me, so I just picked the thing that seems most valuable (a giant Thomas train track?) and I’m going to donate the train track to toys for tots this year. I guess at least that way someone benefits from it.

I have heard it’s technically illegal to sell the old drop-sided cribs at garage sales and such due to safety concerns. I don’t think RNPs are quite at that level yet, but it wouldn’t surprise me if we eventually got there. I don’t think I’d feel comfortable selling one.
ok, you all motivated me. I just took it apart tonight and requested the envelope from FP. Tomorrow is garbage day so I'll trash the rest of it -- I guess yay for an item out of my basement?
The hub parts that you send back are bigger than I thought. When the instructions said you may need a Philips head screwdriver, I assumed somehow the pipe pieces would come out of the round hubs. But I guess this is how you send it back?

The only part FP required me to send back was the crossbar legs.
