My son, who is insanely difficult to shop for, has asked for new curtains for his room for Christmas. Pictured below is his bedding. His furniture is just basic black stuff from Ikea. His walls are a dark green color. He's asked for Blue curtains, but I'm worried about them being too dark, so thinking pulling one of the lighter blue colors from his bedding. I can't do floor length because there is an electric baseboard below his window, 42-48" would be preferable, but if the panels are longer I can always hem them. They definitely need to function, as in open and close, and while room darkening would be preferable, it's not necessary. I don't want to spend a fortune since I need 4 panels. Help!
We have navy blackout curtains similar to these in our daughter's room. I was definitely afraid they'd be too dark, but I actually think they look fine when balanced out by other things in the room, and having the blackout option is nice and practical.
Both my boys have navy blue ones that are room darkening from target. Had them for 7ish years. I ended up doing 3 panels, cutting 1 in half and sewing it to each side of the other two, our windows are a weird wide shape. They are floor length but could easily be shortened.
