There are crazy rumors swirling that Northam plans to arrest law-abiding gun owners in VA. 🙄 so there’s a “gun rights” protest scheduled for next week, which sounds super safe and fun. Anyway, law enforcement is picking up some of the same signals as before the Charlottesville riot, so that’s great.
Seriously, anybody who arms themselves and attends something like this deserves to lose the right to own any weapon. That is not responsible gun ownership. Fucking lunatics. God, this shit pisses me off.
I was offered a fantastic job at our state Capitol, and literally my ONLY concern and worry, is about 2A nut jobs. Our local republicans have organized around “timber unity” and they want the support of all of the 2A groups, and they’ve planned a huge rally with all of their semi trucks, and are now including 2A speakers. I’m hoping the Governor will close down the building that day, because I don’t want to be stuck in traffic surrounded by insane incel assholes that are likely armed. 🤮

I'm here. I'm on a couple "why can't we all just get along" groups with "normal we hate Trump" Republicans and there are a couple who are all-in with "they're taking our guns and we have a right to defend ourselves 2A!!1! spouting off. And this is why I stay with those groups because I can keep a handle on what the nutjobs are saying while still having the support of some less nutty nutjobs.
And no, just because a party that you don't like wins an election and effects change you don't like, you don't get to bring your gun to the state capitol. "But that's what the 2A is all about. Protecting yourself from government overreach!"

"The F.B.I. has arrested three men suspected of being members of a neo-Nazi hate group, including a former reservist in the Canadian Army, who had weapons and discussed traveling to a pro-gun rally next week in Richmond, Va., in anticipation of a possible race war."
