shauni27 - If you figure out a solution, let me know š. Our DSs are the same age and mine also stopped STTN in November. He will sometimes fall asleep on his own but wake up anywhere from 9:30 to 12:30 and cry until I bring him into our bed. Soooooo heās been pretty much sleeping with me in bed since November.
I am guessing thereās a sleep regression around this age? I am planning on switching him to a bed and hoping that helps.
We started doing full cry it out at bedtime on Friday and while it has not been easy, he IS sleeping much better! Friday night took 3 hours of fussing and yelling and crying. Saturday was about an hour. Both nights he slept through the night after that.
Last night after about 30 minutes of yelling and whining, he switched to hysterical. I sent H in to make sure he was ok and he was butt ass naked and peeing on the bed. He tells H, "I naked and I peeing!" He cleaned him up told him it was bed time and put him back down. He woke once in the night and cried out but then went back to sleep again until morning.
If you want your bed back, I strongly suggest re-training! lol.
But in all other aspects of his toddler life he is a total asshole.
How often do you pump at work? What about when you first went back?
Normally (based on pre-mat leave) Iām gone either 7a-roughly 5:45p or 6:30a-roughly 5p, unfortunately with a ton of variability.
I have no memory of what I did with DS, plus my schedule was different.
Today DD nursed at 6:30a and I donāt anticipate Iāll see her again until 5:30p. I was thinking to shoot for every 3 hours, or as close as possible to it?
I had a similar schedule when my kids were younger. I would feed around 6:30 before i head to work, and I won't get home till 6 pm. I would pump 3x a day, about 20 minutes each time. I think the reason is the fatty milk doesn't come down till 15 minutes into pumping (this might not be accurate but it's been awhile). I would pump around 9:30-10am, 12:30-1pm, and 3:30-4pm. Then when I get home I'll nurse immediately unless the baby just got a bottle. If the baby just got a bottle, then I'll squeeze in another pump session when I get home. I give my body about 3 hours so it can regenerate its supply. I pump just enough for a day's intake. When I get home, I mix the milk together into 8 oz bottles, this way the fatty milk and non fatty milk is mixed together. Hope that helps.

I was gone 0630-1930/2000 when I came back from leave with both my kids. When I came back after my first, I initially pumped every 3 hours for 20 minutes. That made me have an oversupply, so I backed it down to every 4 hours for 20 minutes (I need the full 20 minutes to completely drain).
I often pumped/nursed at 0600, then pumped at 0900, 1300, 1700. The pumping sessions could be early or late by an hour and not affect things too much. However, going back to work after my second, I was in L&D rather than mom/ baby, so it was much harder to maintain a schedule or leave the unit and I was doing good to get 2 pumps in those 13 hours. My supply suffered for it.
Can we do sleep training for only MOTN? Bedtime has been pretty good for a while (she's out within 20 minutes, one of us stands there with her and just hold her hand out puts the pacifier back in etc). But she's doing this new thing (regression??) where she's up for hours after her first wake up. She was up for FOUR+ hours last night and I hate everything. MOTN Ferber? We're still room sharing so that makes it a little harder.
You sure can. We did with E1. It was initially Ferber but checks just pissed him off so we went to full CIO.

My days can be so variable too, Iām really worried about fitting everything in. Iāve been pumping once daily at 2-4a while she sleeps for the past few weeks, so have a LOT more in the freezer already than I ever did with DS. Plus sheās still not taking a bottle, so I donāt think Iāll have any trouble keeping up until she (hopefully) sorts things out. Iām mostly concerned at this point with affecting my supply in a way thatāll impact bfing, honestly (DS nursed until 3+).
Inspired by the working moms post, how do people manage nighttime by themselves with 2 children each needing individual attention? Like, bedtime stories and bathtime? How does this work?
I SAH, but DH is never home for bedtime. After dinner, we go straight to bath, girls bathe together (almost 4 and 1.5). I pull the little out first and put a diaper on her in the bathroom then get the older out and send her to get her pull up and jammies on in her room. I dress DD2 then and we go to read a book in DD1 room. After book, everyone brushes teeth and DD1 tries to potty while I put DD2 to bed.
Next, I tuck in DD1. We talk about our days then whatās ahead for the next day, prayers and lights out. I try to be out of everyoneās room by 7:30p- sometimes itās 8p

Tbh, the pumping issue was a (minor) reason why I wanted to quit working and SAH. Had I continued to work, I probably would have sprung for a Willow so I could pump and work at the same time. But we talked about the possibility of me SAH while I was still pregnant so I didn't want to waste the money.
My girls want to wash their hands approximately 22 out of every 24 hours. I used to be able to keep the lock on the bathroom, but now that we are potty training this is not an option.
Is there an awake clock equivalent for hand washing? Should I just make them sing a song and be done?
Mine also loves washing her hands (aka screwing around with the water).
Iāve had some luck explaining that we canāt waste water because everyone on the block needs to share it. She likes our neighbors so when I say āoh we need to save water for Mr. Mickey and Ms. Dolores and Ms. Linda across the streetā she kind of gets it. It doesnāt ALWAYS work but it sometimes helps.

Omg lol Iām sorry about the peeing. Toddlers are assholes.
