Our school district, along with many others, just closed for a MONTH. WOW. I think it's the right thing to do, but it's so unprecedented it's hard to wrap my mind around it.
ETA: A week of that is spring break and also includes 2 days off for Easter.
It is a long break considering that we are trying not to do any of the normal break things (museums, zoo, library, movie theater, bowling, play dates, etc). I guess...baking? puzzles? play doh? playing outside? books?

We aren't currently closed, but I expect that it will come today or over the weekend. If it doesn't, I am going to have to think hard about sending my kids next week.

The counties I live and work in haven't closed yet. Lots of discussion at work about how overblown it is and what a big overreaction to it. Deep State, etc. They have canceled all sports from rec league on up through high school.
Our county public schools are closed starting Monday for 2 weeks. No further updates from daycare, but they are open unless/until the state mandates it.
I'm in Seattle. On Wednesday, Seattle Public Schools announced a two week closure. One day later they increased it to six weeks. Things are changing really quickly.
I’m in NY, so state with second most cases, and more than half of the NY cases are in my county. I live 3 miles from the CT border, and the bordering districts are all closed indefinitely. My H’s district has yet to close at all. My kids’ district was closed yesterday and today for cleaning after a staff member was potentially exposed Wednesday, but claim they’re reopening Monday. I suspect they’re all going to fall like dominoes tonight or over the weekend, but I can’t believe it has taken this long.
All Louisiana public schools closed through April 13. April 13 - 17 is our scheduled spring break so not sure if they are canceling spring break or we are out for an additional week.

Almost every district in my county announced a closure of 4-5 weeks today (San Diego). That includes a week or two of already scheduled spring break. Mine hasn’t closed yet but I anticipate it doing so, especially since our high schools (in a different district) will be closing.

Not closed, but I’m sure it will happen soon. The district finally sent an email today canceling field trips and any event over 500 people, and that they are preparing for electronic learning just in case. I fully expect a closure in the next week or so. People are finally taking it seriously.

The governor in Michigan closed all schools starting March 16 until April 6. However, a number of school districts, including ours, closed schools today too, out of an abundance of caution. My district's spring break is scheduled to have spring break April 2 - 10, so we're now waiting to hear if spring break will still occur the normal schedule, or if it will be rolled into the closure dates. I'm hoping we hear something next week about spring break.
This week was spring break, and our district is still scheduled to go back to school on Monday, but I expect that to change in the next 24 hours. The university in town and both local community college systems have cancelled next week, and I am sure that will be extended. I'm in Texas and I'm curious if a state-wide closure will happen like it has in other states.

We just got our first case and literally 5 minutes aftert this was announced both school districts closed until March 30th. Our spring break was supposed to start in 1 week. Don’t know wth I’m gonna do with my kid as I can’t stop working and can’t take her to work anymore because of this. I hate to have to bug my friend who is a SAHM and will likely get bombarded with request to keep everyone’s kids which seems shitty too

Our county just closed schools. Next week will be elearning, spring break the week after, undetermined after that.
I'm worried they closed too soon. I've read a few things about how rural towns seem safe at first but then get hit hard later once everywhere else returns to normal. There are no cases near us yet so I wonder how this will play out. Is it just going to ramp up when they eventually go back? It seems like everyone is going to get it eventually so what's the benefit of trying to avoid it entirely now? Each town needs it to spread slowly so they can manage it. I wish medical experts had more control of this vs politicians, businesses, etc.

Kentucky schools are closed 3-4 weeks right now, depending on when the district's scheduled spring break is. Today was our last day, and we are scheduled to return after spring break on April 6, so 2 weeks plus spring break.
I'm in Seattle. On Wednesday, Seattle Public Schools announced a two week closure. One day later they increased it to six weeks. Things are changing really quickly.
Ditto. Working from home while trying to help a 11 and 13 year old do classwork has been interesting to say the least. And we're only on day 2.
We are on spring break this week and are closed all of next week. District is making e-learning plans and I fully expect a much longer closure. Honestly at this point I dot even know if we go back this year. We get out in May.
As of last night, all Michigan k-12 schools closed from this coming Monday until April 5th. Spring break starts April 6th - so we’re looking at 4 weeks off.

We’ve got a state mandated 3 week break, followed immediately by spring break. The governor said that she would like schools to rearrange spring break into the closure, but our district has already said they won’t do that. So 4 weeks total.
We are still open but I’m expecting them to close. We are on a military base though so maybe they will just lock us down and Koko. Who knows. They are off mon - tues so they may not decide until Tuesday:
My kids daycare center proxy to the public district (Cambridge, MA) which is closed. Across the river, Boston Public is still open. The Mayor did a press conference today and says they do not plan to close. There are a lot of... feelings about this. My DH is a BPS teacher, but his school made the unilateral decision to close regardless, thankfully, since I have to WFH.
ETA: Boston Public just announced they are closed until 4/27 mere hours after our Mayor held a press conference saying assuredly they'd hold school Monday and all of next week. Unbelievable.

I wanted to do baking with the kids but our grocery shelves are EMPTY. I thought it was just water and toilet paper that people were buying out but it was everything— no milk, no eggs, no chicken at all, only super prime cuts of beef, etc. I’m hoping this levels out - our region just starting closing things today for Monday. There is another thread with a lot of good suggestions.

NYC public, not closed and I expected them to be starting Monday so I’m surprised. But, I’m taking my first grader and 2yo out of school/daycare because I’m WFH until at least 3/31. WFH with kids is not very productive but a confirmed case today has me a little worried about us so it’s for the best.
