My 4 year old fell down the stairs TWICE yesterday. Once during the day and once in the middle of the night. It’s a miracle we haven’t needed to take her to the ER.
My 2nd grader slept the latest she has this whole time we've been home and maybe would have slept later if her sister hadn't woken her up. She seems to be having trouble falling asleep at night but not sure if it's worry or just random. We are doing slow mornings for all of our sakes (especially mine since her sister keeps waking up at 5 fucking AM).
PDQ Update on my niece, she is still sick and they are still waiting on her COVID test results. My nephew is better but niece has not improved at all. They took her back to the ER and ran some more tests yesterday to try to rule out other stuff. She is not getting worse, but concerning that there's been no improvement in a week. The rest of their family is well thankfully.
I don't have an outside baby yet, but I feel so overwhelmed with trying to figure out what items to buy for our baby due in July. I also need to navigate WA State's new family leave policy, and try to find daycare. I'm conflicted on when we'll need daycare, since he'd be entering daycare in Winter 2020-2021 when there could be another wave of COVID-19 outbreaks.
I'm lucky that H and I are both able to WFH and collect full paychecks, but after nine hours at my laptop each work day, my energy to do all this baby planning is zapped. I thought 2nd Tri was supposed to be this magical period of productivity, and I am struggling.
Some Good News from last night had me bawling. Literally. youtu.be/oilZ1hNZPRM (@@ content)
I’m so glad they did a second show of this! I’m excited to show my daughter this morning.
Last night I showed my kids America’s Funniest Home Videos (live— they are not fans of commercials. Lol!) and they laughed so much that I’m going to make it a weekly thing.
Enforcing schoolwork today - DS is doing great sitting at the dining room table and getting his work done. DD on the other hand is being a pain in my behind. She is great at school but gives us nothing but attitude. It's going to be a long week.

5 yr old is full of tantrums and attitude today. He is so social and has always needed school or play dates almost every day. He’s been a champ so far but is in full meltdown today
I've been adding clips and memes from The Office and The Simpsons to my daily lesson plans (7th and 8th grade; I make a slideshow for every day). My students LOVED "Some Good News" last week and I'm so excited to add the second episode to tomorrow's slides.

Pregnancy is so glamorous. Literally needed a pants person this morning because apparently 12 weeks brought the puking. I threw up violently for the 3rd day in a row, this time while simultaneously peeing on myself, my favorite pants, and the bathroom floor. I’d avoided actually throwing up until now so.... yay?
Is it bad if it's supposedly "Spring Break", but the WFH/SAHP still has a modified version of homeschooling still in effect? Asking for a friend...
We're planning to keep up the homeschool routine through our spring break. Honestly, we're finally into a good routine, so I don't want to throw it off by letting them run wild for a week. (Plus, I still need to work that week!)

What? Definitely not. It's supposedly spring break here but we have the kids in "school" just like every other day. I can't have them being crazy all week.

DD found some Easter stuff I had in the car. (DH was supposed to get it out last night, but forgot and they took my car to get coffee this morning.)
So, we've now confirmed that she doesn't believe in the Easter Bunny OR Santa. It's sad to lose that part of the holidays, but it also makes life much easier.

We are taking spring break off. We'll still do extra reading and art/drawing/coloring stuff, but we won't make screen time dependent on doing specific school-related stuff.
However, I am luck that H is on lay off and can keep the kids occupied (or respond to their numerous requests for food) while I WFH.

How old is she?
DSs (6) know that H and I put out the stuff for the egg hunt, but they still believe in EB. They are 1st graders so I know our years of this are almost over. DD (12) never admitted to knowing the truth. She still goes along for the sake of her younger brothers.

We told our kids that Santa, EB only come to those who believe.
We have a 40 year old and a 37 yr old who still get visits from them. ;p
I am rolling my eyes about the Upper East Side family that is making their (undocumented) housekeeper come to work because it’s just so hard to teach their kids and work at the same time. Hello, welcome to normal people’s lives with kids and jobs right now. So irresponsible. If they can keep paying $700 a week for her services then they can keep paying her to stay home.
I ordered stuff from Amazon for Easter baskets. DS (6) wanted to know why he couldn't know what was in those boxes. I told him the Easter Bunny asked some mommies to help with baskets this year because he doesn't want to come in all the different houses and risk spreading COVID, so he Amazoned stuff to people to put in the baskets for their kids. He bought it.
My 3 year old figured out that the door leading out to our garage is magnetic and she is covering it with magnatiles. We did this on our garage doors last week and it's a great activity

As someone who just had to repaint my kitchen to garage door, this makes me cringe. But I'm aware I have issues.
Today is our spring break, so I gave my kid today off. I did tell her we were going to do a few school things, but not like last week. Plus I had back to back interviews this morning.
Her school district is using microsoft teams and I can't figure anything out. It looks like the teacher assigned stuff before sending out the registration information? No fucking clue. I hate this so much.

ours has never been painted, haha. We had a bunch of primed but not painted doors installed...many moons ago and still don't have them painted.
My oldest (she's 22) just had a consult with an oral surgeon about her wisdom teeth. The x-ray showed them growing in literally sideways. So guess who is having her wisdom teeth out? UGH.
I will admit it's nice to think about something other then the fucking virus for a hot second.

Our spring break is 2.5 weeks (normally 2 weeks) and starts today. I have landed on a checklist that my kids need to complete to get video games and once they are done with the checklist they can do whatever they want. We do watch a show or two on tv in the morning before any work.
The checklist has - 1 hour of playtime (legos, board game, play with your siblings, whatever) 1 hour of independent reading 1 hour of exercise (a long walk / scooter ride if the weather is nice, otherwise go noodle or other videos or obstacle courses they make for each other etc) Clean room 1 chore (rotating list of things like wipe down a bathroom, mop the kitchen, etc) 30 minutes of read aloud with me of a chapter book
After that they can rot their brain with Roblox or whatever else 😂
