twinmomma- one of DH’s cousins is selling them for $15 each in her small town in East Texas. It feels... distasteful, especially since she’s a teacher and coach and is selling them to her students/players and their families. Many of whom are out of work while she and her husband are still getting paid. But this is par for the course for her. She is the most greedy person I have ever met. And turns everything into a hustle. Even when it seems like a clear conflict of interest. Like she sells team jackets and charges her students for her to embroider them. Sells tee shirts to their parents. Ugh. Just... ugh.

The consensus seems to be that we accept the masks and offer them to the neighborhood for elderly, immunocompromised or if they just want them I guess. But we let the neighborhood know that whatever they don't take we will donate.
Overall after 24 hours it seems that the consensus is that because we are being given them for the purpose of giving to our neighbors, we should at least start off with that, but let the neighborhood know that whatever we don't give out in the neighborhood will be donated.
I do understand that, so now I'll be side eyeing the neighbors who take them who I know can do for themselves.
FWIW, I ordered masks off etsy. Also, my company doesn't have enough cloth masks for our hospitality workers so they ordered large bandannas and we have instructions on how to make them into a pretty good face covering. I hate this situation that we are in.
Add me to the list of buying cloth masks on Etsy. So far I had been using an N95 mask that we happened to have in the garage from another one of DH's doomsday prepper episodes a couple years ago. If I had more of those, I would donate them.

I have 3 N95 masks that Dh got from work that I use to mow grass. I cant donate because I already wore them. But once I wear them out I guess they are done.

OMG all the doomsday preppers just must be feeling so wise right now.
I think about that a lot regarding that lady who is in jail because no one can find her children.
mustardseed2007 I use the term in a tongue in cheek way - we are definitely not like those crazy people
DH has just always looked at the worst case scenario and tried to prepare for it - like when we bought our house, and our mortgage payment was maybe like 5-10% of our income, he did the math on how much it would need to drop in value for us to lose the house, and was comforted by the fact that we could always drive cross country and move in with our parents if necessary. He also didn’t want to live closer than a couple miles from the ocean in case of tsunamis
