Happy Easter!!! Waiting on the family to wake up and kids see their baskets! Watching mass then having a very non traditional chili, Star Wars movie day.
My kids got up and opened their baskets and had almost finished hunting eggs before I got up. DH just went to drive thru for coffee and donuts, which feels like our big adventure for the weekend. Later MIL will come over and we are having ham, stuffing, and carrots for lunch.
Happy Easter! I got the full experience via video call, complete with an early morning wake up! Haha Just spent almost two hours watching the girls go through their baskets, build Legos, and have a Trolls dance party. Put me in such a good mood to see them!
Dh is still asleep, the kids got up super early and found their baskets. I fed them cinnamon rolls. In a minute I will tune in to a streaming religious service. We will do a big lunch later today, and also hunt the eggs that I stuffed.
We were supposed to be camping Thurs-Sunday at a campground which was cancelled. We camped in our driveway. We took the cover off, made all the beds up and put the sliders out. Didn’t turn on the water and didn’t need to pack any food which made clean up easy! We did turn on the electric and turned on the propane for heat though. We brought the cornhole boards and hammock out, roasted hot dogs for dinner over a fire on the patio. Made s’mores at night and the kids played on our playground with glow sticks. I might walk them down to a stream to go fishing later. We slept in the camper at night. The Easter bunny knew we stayed out there and delivered baskets in the camper. It was a good weekend.
2 am wake up call over here. I was.. not impressed.
Easter bunny made it after all. We weren’t sure if he had to follow coronavirus restrictions. Eventually I’ll drag my buff downstairs, work out, clean up, then we’re all going to dress up in our fancy duds and egg hunt once it’s a little warmer out.
Kids woke up and went through their (small) baskets. There was a reading theme and they both got lots of books. Then a quick egg hunt, breakfast. I streamed Mass, now hoping to go for a quick walk.
We are going to see my parents. We will stay outside and sit far apart. They seemed so sad about the possibility of not seeing anyone. The kids and I have gone to see them several times since this all started - we stay outside and walk to the beach. Since they are forced to restrict where they go, and my kids haven’t been anywhere else, I feel pretty comfortable.
Happy Easter! We did breakfast then online service. Will do easter scavenger hunt after lunch. Other than that we will video call family for dinner and watch a movie in the backyard.

Well, I slipped and now the kids know the Easter Bunny isn't real...oops!! But at least now they know. I hope they figure out on their own that Santa isn't real so DH and I can start to get credit for all the gifts!
We got DS a gaming headset and DD new headphones. Both got some of their favorite candy, and we got DD a couple Sharpies. I had put quarters and dollar bills, and two eggs with a $10 bill (one for each of them), in plastic eggs that we hid around the living room.
I'm going to try and make homemade scalloped potatoes later today, and we'll have ham to go with it.
DD1 was up at 6:30 ready to egg hunt. By 8am I felt like I had put in a full day. Lol
And it feels like Christmas because it’s snowing! And we are staying home all day (which is how we spent Christmas Day)
Zoomed with my parents, my brother and BIL. Kids have built legos, eaten tons of candy and are now chilling with their tablets. Ham is baking and DD1 and I need to make banana cream pie.

Ds woke up and asked if I had done the Easter bunny yet (he’s 8 and has known a few years...the gig was up when he was 5 as he is that kind of kid). I said no and he was upset but went back to his room to play on his iPad. It gave me time to do it all and then go get the boys and tell them the Easter bunny came. They did the egg hunt in our house (our family tradition) and they got their crafts (a build your own bird house, make your own stepping stones, and an herb garden to plant). I made eggs and bacon, we watched church, we dyed eggs, called some grandparents and now they’re playing in the yard. Dh is teaching ds to shift in the racing simulator today and I’m cleaning the house/doing laundry (still....it never ends). I’m going to make our traditional Easter dinner later - Ham and baked pineapple.
covergirl82 DH also is currently making scalloped potatoes, and we’re also having ham Yesterday we did a parent-sponsored egg hunt and dyed eggs. This morning we hunted for eggs the Easter bunny left and the kids got their baskets. After the toddler’s nap we’ll do the Easter egg piñata I made, and then my parents are coming over for Easter dinner (since we’re all self isolating together already).
... the Easter bunny put about $75 in the eggs and I’m annoyed. DD is 7, she’d be happy with very little. DS is almost 4, he’d be happy with even less.
I would like to blame this on MIL and FIL overcompensating for the current circumstances, but the eggs were prepared in February.

$75?? WOW! I know a lot of people who would like to do an egg hunt at your house!
WE had a great day. I made the baskets last night with stuff we purchased this week. Not too much but just right. We got food from a local BBQ place, and we did not go over board on the amount, the kids dyed eggs (we intended to do it yesterday but with it being so warm in the house while our AC was being replaced, no one felt like it) and we played with confetti eggs to end the party.
The only problem now is that I'd like to go for a run but it's 90 degrees so I'm going to take a nap instead.
I’ve been trying to find ways to avoid the grocery store after my recent panic attack. I found a local food wholesale/restaurant supply place that is now delivering to residential addresses, and I ordered a beef tenderloin.
OMG it was DELICIOUS. DH cooked it on the rotisserie on the grill and it was perfect. I’m so stuffed.

My kids got $7 each, lol. I wish someone would give me $75 for Easter!
We had a fine day. Money in eggs, candy in piñata. I am not prepared for a rough work week and I got some expected but bad family news and so I put my mental house in order while putting my physical house in order. Also, a couple glasses of wine.
Happy Easter, y’all! I am glad to have this board for all these years.
Happy Easter It was a good day. I didn't work which is very abnormal unless Easter is after tax day so I'm a little off. DD hunted eggs and the weather was very nice so we spent most of the day outside in our yard. DH smoked Turkey legs and did smoked twice baked potatoes. Neither tasted good so I ate maybe 3 bites of dinner at least DD ate most of her thank you bites and all the leftover rice I gave her.
