If you like this game, do you know any others that are kind of like that? This is the game I find the most fun. Super Smash Bros is ok, but the fighting ones have never been my favorite.

Animal Crossing is good, but it's not really like Luigi's Mansion. Have you tried Mario Odyssey? That's pretty good and sort of in the same vein. There's Kirby, too, but it's not my favorite by any stretch. Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is adorable and fun, too! I need to get back into that, actually, haha.

I would love to try Zelda, but I'm trying to get 2+ player games so I can play with the poor kid. LOL Mario Odyssey looks fun! There's more than one Kirby, is one better than the other? I love that character. My son has a stuffed one
Sonic Mania is on sale for 9.99! the Kirby games are really fun too. I second Yoshi, it gets difficult towards the end, but you can play in Zen mode. I can play Mario Kart for hours.

DH and I have been playing a lot of Super Mario Party, but it's very different than Luigi's mansion. We have Mario Odessy on our list to buy in the future.
ETA: Mario Kart is fun. We just bought a year of online for $20. It's fun for family game night, you can create a room with people you know. There's races, and battles, so a lot to do.
I think there's a free Kirby mini-game you can download if you have Switch online access.
Unrelated, I really enjoyed Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it took us a couple of months to finish. Good if you like story games.

Is that on the Nintendo site? I only see it for 19.99. Which is, I guess, better than 59.99 like the other games I'm looking at!

Yeesh, so much to figure out. LOL. He has the membership, but I don't know how to do anything with other people online. I'll try look up the Mario Kart thing. He's downloading the free Kirby game now!
H and I started playing LEGO DC Super Villains. We’re both enjoying it.
I can't get into it. We tried today but it felt like I was just walking around. I think part of the problem is my son knows them all and then when we try to play he's just telling us what he wants us to know!

Dochas, my 13 year niece has to set up the Switch room and video call for the adults in the family lol. I agree it's rather complicated for a system geared at younger children...
I see Mario + Rabbids is only $15. Have you played that one?
I haven't! I'll check it out.
I thought Breath of Wild was boring, but DH liked it.
We also got the annual subscription to all the old games, so you can play all kinds of random stuff like Kid Icarus, Mega Man, Mario 1/2/3, etc. It was super cheap too, like $12.
Just thought I would add my general switch question to this thread instead of starting a new one.
1 - I finally got a switch! yay! 2 - holy shit, I forgot how expensive video games are
Now onto my question. I have been playing mario kart with my niece and nephew who live in Utah - and it is super fun, but only 2 people can play per console. Are there any online multiplayer games that let more that 2 people play per console?
jigsy I am far from an expert, but my son downloaded 2 free games from the Nintendo site. One is a car racing game that has great graphics. My 9 year old loves it, but I haven't played it. Not sure about multiplayer, I'll ask him tomorrow.
The Kirby game is really fun IMO and is for at least 4 players. I saw something that said you can play others online, or set up your own thing online and invite others to join your game. Is that how the Mario kart works?

If you have a red and blue controller you should be able to play with three people, assuming you have a second controller. The red and blue can work as separate controllers. We bought a membership to Switch online and play Mario Kart against DH's family. That way I think we get up to 8 players?

Cool - do you just select the 2 player option, but youre able to have 3 people?
