We're supposed to be renting a condo at the Jersey shore for a week at the end of the summer. We found the rental through ShoreSummerRentals.com, but they only show listings, it's not like AirBnB or VRBO where you book through them.
I emailed the owner three days ago, asking what he plans to do if the mayor's beach closures and rental bans are still in place at the time of our rental. Basically, I want to know if we would get out money back or a credit for next summer.
I haven't gotten a response yet. How long would you wait to follow up?
We reached out about our shore rental in mid-July to see what was happening and they had changed to a 90 day money-back cancellation policy. We were on day 78 at that point š±. We cancelled and luckily they gave us the money. But I would not just put this on the back burner. Keep track of dates and communications so you can get your $$ if you want it.

We put a deposit down for a house in the Outer Banks, and if we cannot go in August, we will lose our deposit all together. So we are just holding out that maybe we can do it.
