I bought a City Mini GT double stroller last year when I was pregnant with DS. I knew it was iffy on how much I'd need a double stroller because DD was already 3, but I caught a sale and figured I'd use it.
Well, DD is now 4, rides a bicycle, and the double stroller is still new in box in the basement. I feel pretty comfortable that we don't need a double stroller after all. DS mostly rides in the single BOB now. I'd like to sell the CMGT double before it becomes way outdated. It's the 2016 model, and the 2018 is out now.
I was thinking of listing for sale on my town's FB mom swap page, with PayPal payment preferred. Since the stroller is NIB, there's not much to inspect, and I think I could get it to a buyer without coming into close contact. How much would you ask for it? It's this model and color:
which is currently $405.99 at Albee Baby, $459.99 at Amazon. The newer 2018 model is around $600.
I was thinking (hoping) somewhere in the $350-400 zone, is that reasonable?
I don’t think you’ll get many takers at that price. I’d rather buy from Albee Baby for $5 more and not deal with pick up or strangers. I’d probably price it at $300.
I have the same stroller, purchased in 2017 for around $800. I have the belly bar and two snack trays, and it’s in very good condition, so I was planning on selling it this summer for around $300. It’ll go quickly in my local twins & triplets group. I’m sad to let it go cause I love that thing, but my boys are almost 3 and we don’t use it that often anymore.
If yours is brand new I’d totally post for $350-$400!

Point well taken, although with sales tax the Albee Baby price would be around $435, so $350-400 is definitely >$5 savings.
I would probably list it around $300-$350. Unless I am able to save $50-100+, I personally would prefer to get it from the retail store since it would typically come with a manufacturers warranty.

I think you ordered when I did when it was on sale for $348.99. If that's the case I'd list for $350 expecting they will try to negotiate down to $300.
FWIW--I sold our baby swing this week on FB and wrote "Contact Free Pickup. You pay by Venmo or PayPal and I will leave it in my driveway at a mutually convenient time." It sold within a few hours so FB BST is still "alive and well". I didn't have to come near anyone.
I agree was $350 then be prepared to go down to $300. There are a few used ones listed for $200 on our local board so I would be happy to get a new one for $300/350.

That's awesome! And yea I'm thinking maybe $350 is a reasonable midpoint to start at, I can go down from there if it doesn't move. I found the email from last year, and I paid $359.99 + tax = $385. It was a dumb purchase, but it eased my pregnant crazies at the time, so that was worth something?
The amount of stuff I have to sell is happily small. I recently found out my next door neighbor is due in June with a boy, their first, so I'm just giving her first dibs on everything. She just took our bumbo, all of our boy baby clothes <12 mo. size, car seat cover, and the NIB tub that I got from Fisher Price from the RNP recall. I also offered her our swing and bouncer. I felt small pangs packing up the tiny things, but having the space back feels good. Clutter stresses me out.

Yes---we're finally starting to unclutter and it's SOOO nice. Thankfully my sister is having twins next week so most of it is just being given to her, but some of it she either doesn't want (says she doesn't need a swing. LOL FTM) or she needed to get her own because I won't quite be done yet (car seat). The family room feels so much bigger without that huge ass swing. AHHH. I get you on the pangs of sadness though. I initially included the boys' going home outfits in the bag of clothes to my sister and then called and was like "uhh---I need those back". Otherwise I am getting rid of everything.
The double stroller was not our best purchase either although we have used it a few times. We probably would have used it more if we could leave our house this summer. LOL I considered selling it to my sister, but I think we'll hang on to it for a few more years. Even if I can eventually sell for $250 I'll be happy.

How much did you sell the swing for? I need to get rid of ours. We planned on having a garage in mid July but I'm concerned that won't happen and I'll be stuck with all this damn stuff.

$30. It's a Fisher Price Snugabunny one. I bought it used for $25 and figured the person would try to negotiate down, but I had 4-5 people interested pretty quickly so I guess I priced right!
hamster, just as a data point, we took our swing down at Christmas time to make room for the tree, and I offered it up for $50 before I put it in the basement. It didn't sell, but Christmas probably isn't a great time of year. If my neighbor doesn't take it I'll try again, maybe $40? It's a Fisher Price Snugabunny that goes for ~$120 on Amazon now. At this point I just want to stop storing it.

make sure if you accept paypal that you do "friends/family" so you dont get charged a fee and so that people cant contest the transaction. Most people are dumb when it comes to paying with Paypal so I prefer Venmo
FB BST is definitely alive and well. We are moving and I’m seriously downsizing. I’ve sold close to $6k and all contact-free, PayPal/Venmo transactions only. Since I’m home all day I just ask people to go ahead and pay (no holds without payment) and give me 2 hours notice of when they want to pick up.
I just offered it for $350, and had 3 inquiries in under an hour. The guy who is buying it asked if I'd take $300 (which is fair) but I told him I had 2 other inquiries so it was likely to go for full price. He said ok, he'd take it for $350. Done. Yay!
I still lost $35 on it, but as dumb baby purchases go that is NBD.

$35 for the peace of mind in the moment was worth it!
