I'm sick of this crap on my feed. I've been invited to at least 10 parties since quarantine began. A few moms I know have their daughter's peddling these. Will MLM ever go away?
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
I think it's surged because of all the nail places that are closed. I have several people who became consultants in the last month. It's driving me crazy.
They were really popular a few years ago. But I think they have seen an increase in popularity since you can't get your nails done in a salon anywhere. I was added to a group this morning, and I agree - annoying!
I do think a lot of people have joined certain MLMs in the last couple months since this started. Things like home fitness, salon stuff you can do at home like hair and nail things, and I know Usborne books had a bunch of people join because I still get their emails even though I quit at the end of last year. Their sales shot up with people buying books to use for teaching their kids at home and they offered a special for people to join for cheap and people joined to either capitalize on the higher demand and/or to get a discount on their own books.
and LLR still hasn't gone under, I don't understand how this is possible.
They had to cancel their cruise back in March and from my understanding they aren't giving the people that earned it anything in exchange, not even a guaranteed spot on next year's cruise (which they probably know won't happen, lol)

To be fair, I don't think that is much different from any other job related incentive.

SO MANY INVITES. Even dh is getting arbonne invites. He was like "what is this business that Friend's wife is starting?". Poor innocent dh.
Over the last 4 weeks I have been invited to a cycle of parties that started with Friend 1, then mutual Friend 2 bought into Friend 1's hype and became a consultant, then 3rd mutual friend hosted a party for friend 2....It's this chain reaction of constant party invites from all of them weekly. One of them even started peddling the stuff over a google hangout with our general couple friends circle last week. And I noticed Friend 1 is now selling epicure as of today too. All of these people still have their normal jobs and salaries so it's not like some desperate attempt at income. BAAAHHH!
A high school friend is a beachbody coach and messaged me that she noticed I haven't posted any pics with me in them during the quarantine, so perhaps I'm not feeling happy with myself. $25 to join her weight loss challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems like the pandemic has made the MLMs even more vulture like. I've had way too many people add me to online MLM parties in the last several weeks. My favorite (sarcasm) are the diet ones friending me and/or sending unsolicited DMs telling me I should use the pandemic as the perfect opportunity to lose weight and make myself better. Bitch please, I'm going for basic survival here, and that may include oreos.
Not joking one bit, I've had about 50 new Instagram followers in the last week that are monat, beachbody, arbonne or oil huns. It's like their upline must be telling them to just follow people since we're all getting fat and can't get our hair done. My IG profile specifically says I'm anti-MLM yet they still follow.
That said, there are similar products to color street that they sell at Walmart (I'm told) that are half the price and just as good. I keep meaning to look at Target since I don't shop Walmart because they're not shitty products, just shitty markups.

All of the sudden it's everywhere. It seems like it's that Jamberry nail stickers stuff?
It is actual nail polish, in strips. So you just press it on but it isn't really a sticker. Idk how to explain.
Ulta has the same product as Wal-Mart. They don't have many colors though.
Honestly I hate MLMs but i kind of love this stuff. I can get almost 2 weeks out of 1 application, so i have actually been doing my nails since a friend started selling it.
Thankfully I don't see much in the way of health and weight related ones. This is probably because my friends list is pretty curated at this point, i guess.
I’ve been invited to two Norwex parties. $19.99 for one microfiber cloth? Hard pass.
I had never heard of this one, and now people are asking about it on our neighborhood boards. Stupid stuff, like does it kill corona virus... If only there were studies of Norwex and Corona, because we don't need studies of, I don't know, real solutions and treatments?
Colorstreet came-up during a Zoom chat with my cousin!! She randomly had a boatload of product (from a previous party or two), really liked it, and randomly showed us how well it worked in this crazy at-home time.
Her “consultant” has run out of product because it is so popular. Who knew this would be a quarantine staple??

The Walmart stuff is by the same manufacturer as colorstreet but different patterns. I used it in February/March but after a week, it just peeled off my nails and my nails started peeling themselves (could have also been the increased hand washing. I teach college, so I was washing every 90 minutes all day long). I am getting lots of Limelife invites.

One of the two owners of my previous company (one of the largest home health companies in Denver) shills Norwex along with his wife. When PPE and clorox wipes etc were in short supply, they bought a shit-ton of Norwex cloths to distribute to all the therapists and nurses so that they could "adequately clean" their equipment. The wife also sent out a soliciting e-mail. I am still technically on their payroll so I get all these e-mails. First of all, this stuff is supposed to be able to kill bacteria - ok, maybe. But COVID is a virus, not a bacteria, so... yeah. I'd love to report them but I don't know to who or how.
A friend of mine who is a pediatrician recently became a Norwex consultant. That one surprised me and also bummed me out because I hate it when people who should and do know better start speaking (and selling) in terms of everything being "full of toxic chemicals!!1!"

And I’m really tired of hearing about their cloths being sooo great for mask making.

So this is the overpriced crap that my SIL sells. They are now selling masks that look like tighty-whities for your face and "filter up to 60% of bacteria larger than .4 microns." But OMG, it contains SILVER.
